Hey Marcus, is it bus powered when in controller mode with the a computer? Or does in need to be connected to the mains? I remember with Push 2 when it was connected via USB the screen and pads lighting was dim and needed to be connected to the mains to brighten it. Is it the same with Push 3?
@kaleidoscope_records_ Жыл бұрын
I also have this question
@MarcusSchmahl Жыл бұрын
It's not bus powered, BUT the LEDs are as bright, as it is while it's powered. So you can work with it in controller mode for several hours with battery power ;)
@kaleidoscope_records_ Жыл бұрын
@@MarcusSchmahl I guess my question pertains to the controller only version, which does not have the battery I assume?
@MarcusSchmahl Жыл бұрын
@@kaleidoscope_records_ Oh ok. I do not have the controller only version, but I think that it works like Push 2 in this case, because it has got no battery for that reason.

" Just keep in mind that the new standalone unit is not a fully functioning arranger, but a powerful performance tool and mobile beat-making powerhouse. Arranging your tracks in full still happens in Live". This is a stand alone ver...how? And not even standard version included? Thats makes it nearly 3000.00 USD if you want the full capabilities. Waaay to pricey.
@RobotSnake Жыл бұрын
No matter what instrument comes out you will always find some poors breaking it down in the comments and complaining about the price. It sucks you can’t afford it but all the trash talk is just you trying to convince yourself you don’t need it. This is a must have device! If you had the cash you know you would get the one! Why are you even factoring in the cost of Ableton? Don’t most half way serious producers have that by now? I bet you are running the bootleg version.
@GrootsieTheDog Жыл бұрын
@@RobotSnake I like how you attack the person instead of the argument. So many logical fallacies here I don’t know where to begin so I’m not. I’ll just say, making assumptions to make your point is not going to win you any point in a debate.
@RobotSnake Жыл бұрын
@@GrootsieTheDog Whatever you need to tell yourself. I simply made a broad observation that is absolutely true. Go look at any announcement video of any piece of gear over a grand. It will be full of comments with people complaining about the cost. But if you insist, this a a pro level device. Owning the software is kind of expected at this point. It’s also a stab at the bootleggers so good on them. It is meant for performance. If you need an arranger just bring your iPhone. I wouldn’t be surprised if they added that later but it is not necessary. Let’s not forget there is a stand-alone version, a controller version and user upgradable parts. This has something for everyone. Make tracks in standalone that you can jam on and play live and when you want to do studio takes plug it into your computer. Extremely logical and efficient. Maybe I’ll get my hands on it and not gel with it so much but right now it checks sooooo many boxes for my use case and the cost is reasonable. I have addressed your argument. Are you happy now?

Hi Marcus, thanks for the great video. I'm thinking about buying Push 3, but am put off by the missing arrangement view in standalone. Can you at least record clips into an arrangement and play back the result on standalone (e.g. using shift-record)? I know you can't edit the arrangement, but can you create one and then carry over to a computer for editing? And can you play back arrangements that you created on the computer in standalone?
@robertgarvansnyder4665 Жыл бұрын
I don’t believe you can do this, however there’s an easy workaround. You can loop segments of your arrangement on Live desktop, and choose “convert selection to new scene”, so you then have a row of clips in arrangement view to trigger. This is also the way to build live arrangements on Push, despite the lack of the arrangement view: with any selection of clips playing that you like, choose “insert new scene” and the currently selected clips will become their own scene (again, a horizontal row of clips that can be triggered together.” Currently, I don’t think there’s a way to say something like “play this scene for 8 bars, then the next scene for 2 bars, then the following scene for 6 bars.” My money is on Ableton adding more options to set “follow actions” on clips from the hardware, but full arrangement mode would be challenging- so much of arrangement mode is about micro editing, which is going to be hard to do without a mouse.
@MarcusSchmahl Жыл бұрын
Thanks a lot for your feedback. You cannot record Clips and Scenes to get an arrangement, but I think this will be coming in an update. Because it‘s important to have in a standalone hardware. You can jam in scene view to get an arrangement and of course you can drag and drop your project to Live on your computer to finish your idea and song.

Are you using MIDI sync over USB here? How tight is the timing, do you need to adjust delays.. if you've used Ableton before you know what I'm talking about probably.

@MarcusSchmahl Жыл бұрын
I noticed no problems with RAM and no latency at all playing with Push 3 using a lot of devices. Of course there is a limit (of about 50 Wavetable devices, which you'll never use in a project). You can freeze and/or flatten tracks, which use a lot of devices/effects, etc. - in short: it's working like a charm! 🙂
