I was so happy to see you can make puddles of a colour and add the golden glazing medium ,i finely bought,this is my preferred way to work with acrylics,the golden medium is just great,gives me plenty of time to work and blend,thanks Cinnamon it's just what I needed to see.,i didn't think it was possible.

i love this painting. But what i really love is how you like your second go at it better. it really teaches us that 1)practice makes perfect (or whatever the equivalent in art is. maybe, practice makes magic happen) and 2)even the best artist (thats you Cinnamon) doesn't love everything they paint so it is more than ok to try again.

Helen DeNoia Cinnamon had problems yesterday... Could've been the KZbin update? maybe on her end, but we went to her Facebook page. I lost the feed there BC FB wanted me to download their app to my phone, had a lotta permissions, etc.(I gave up on FB long ago BC their apps have killed batteries, their updates seem to turn on notifications, if you turned them off, THEN it kills my battery {even if plugged in}), bit Anyhow, she got it up I guess today & her livestreamers on here (KZbin) was great! Better than it's been for a while for anyone I've seen live, so hopefully the Internet gods will be good to us all! ;)

I tried to paint the sketch and messed it all up...the sketch looks good, but the painting I did messed it up and it looks horrible. The nose vanished and the eyes are no longer the same and my blending of colors looks nothing like yours Cinnamon. I will see how I can fix it up tomorrow, if I could fix it. It is still fun and I like the experience. I think my colors that I mixed weren't quite the right colors to begin with. The hair doesn't even look like the right color. I will try again tomorrow. Her ears are no longer ears. :( At least I had fun and I'm getting started. Thanks again for the time you take out to teach and how you make it seem so easy. You're a great teacher and I'm looking forward to learning as much as possible. Thank you and John!

I looked alot like this earlier this week. Between feeling bad and over a year of not getting more than 2-4 hours of sleep a night, I woke up the other morning with big purple/black streaks along my already purplish bags under my eyes. Thankfully I have gotten full nights of sleep the last 2-3 nights so the purple/black streaks are gone, but I still am brandishing the purple bags. We are really hard on ourselves at times, with everything we deal with, and eventually that mistreatment starts to show on our faces. So I get this face, I really do.

i have found to keep my paint tubes easy to open n close, to dip them in the water that is used to clean the brushes, then wipe the rim of the tube with a rag, then replace its cap. whala...i hope this help other painters.

It seems to me that doing some of these things (the eye and eyebrow specifically) seem easier when you work on bigger canvass/paper? Is this just a me thing or is there a reason for that? It's something about the brush strokes but I just can't put my finger on it.

PommegranateTime Could be brush size, liquidity of paint, size (smaller usually harder to do, yet more details needed on larger, but you can get the same sized brush in the larger areas??? Eyes are a challenge for me. I worked on a study on eyes & too classes on it (medical)... You'd think I should be great at that since I've seen several hundred eyes, took pics of them through a microscope flipped on it's back... I don't know that it'll translate to canvas though? We're about to find out soon! ;) I've not done portraits, except perhaps in school, this this will be good for me! :)

I do not have Naphtol reds or Crimsons, what could I use as substitute? I have Cadred, Permanent red, permanent Magenta and Quanadragone Magenta! What would you suggest Cinnamon? your Dioxazine Purple looks much more blue than mine. even if i don't use any Quinacridone Magenta. mine is more a pink sade. is there different Dioxazine Purples? like different sades like the Phthalo Blues and greens? or is it different from brands? mine says it is Dioxazine Purple PV23

So one thing can be the color balance on our camera's. We do our best to color match but some colors can be off. You have the right pigment. A bit less likely is your Diox purple is off.

Modge Podge is awesome stuff but it does not Varnish :) the Plaid company does make a Varnish though
