“Postcode wars are an ongoing problem throughout the UK. Young people are fighting and dying over areas they have no ownership over. The youth need to realise they are not soldiers enlisted by the government to defend and regulate their areas, they are simply residents by circumstance. There is nothing wrong with loving the area you was raised in but it does not mean you have to die for it.” -Rapman

The burger bar and johnson used to chill together early to mid ninetys. The main reason these had issues was because one burger bar boy was going around robbing shooting. Even then the same guy got youngers to form badda bar. More bodies have dropped from internal beef from both sides. The media hyped it and alot of misinformation

I used to travel all around England since the early 90ies until recently. Mostly for attending gigs but also for some holidays. Most of the time on my own and I never ran into serious trouble, exploring everything by public transport and by foot. Of course, we're not supposed to notice, let alone comment on, the fact that so many of these gangs in so many of our cities.. and cities of every other civilised country, are black. What is it that prevents these people from staying in school, training to do worthwhile work and setting up a home ? Why the preference for quick wealth and crime ? Or as a colleague of mine responded to that question.. 'Well, they object to learning how to replace a transmission when it's easier to steal a car'.

You are asking the wrong question, the question should be, Why are so many Black youths shown to be active in criminality on such programmes? When 85% of the UK's prolific offenders and Cat A prisoners are white British. It is because it suits the narrative that politicians, main stream media platforms etc want to portray. Also, statistically more black people are stopped and searched on the streets by police, therefore they feel alot safer in groups. I know many black people that have successfully attended university, have highly paid jobs and work in respected sectors. Equally, I have worked with prolific offenders that have white british,British Asian, and British black, backgrounds that turned to crime due to financial reasons. It isn't a question of ethnicity, it is a question of Individual choice.

@@benscott7100I completely agree, a white British person committing a crime doesn't sell newspapers so stories don't apear unless it can't be avoided. Yet there is a narrative of Black gang crime, black on Black stabbings, murders, shootings etc In reality the stats show something completely different.

My Dad is from Aston. He grew up there in the 70's born in the mid 60's and he always told me that he moved away when my mum got pregnant with me because of how bad the city was. I have a massive soft spot for brummies because I grew up with them and still have family there. However. The only trouble u have ever encountered in my life is when I visit friends or family there. Its a wild place, especially in Aston but I can't help but love them.

I lived in Birmingham, loved it then & love it still but its a shit hole, i live in peaceful Scotland now, ive been back on several occasions, lovely infrastructure, but i think its dangerous, its proper multi cultural with nearly 200 different nationalities, 198 to be exact, but they dont all mix, its segregated & just dont feel safe & the city centre is full of vagrants & homeless people, it resembles a slum American city than a British beautiful city.

@Phil-D83......I don't know if Birmingham had prohibition or not, but it had the Cadbury family - who were Quakers and essentially banned alcohol or any form of 'entertainment' in the City. In fact, this is the reason why 'organised crime' established itself in Birmingham from the late 1950's and early '1960's. [by the likes of Eddie Fewtrell]. Not sure why this is completely omitted from this documentary - Fewtrell ruled Birmingham with an iron fist [he actually ran the Kray twins out when they tried to muscle in!] It is a reasonably well-known fact that when carmakers such as the Austin-Rover group began opening large factories and subsidiary industries started moving into the Birmingham area there was a huge demand for nightlife, pubs and other forms of entertainment. People literally had nothing to do or nowhere to go in the evenings and on the weekends - except Quaker and Temperance meetings. Birmingham City Council [strongly influenced by the Cadbury family] came to the rather bizarre conclusion that only lowlife scum would want to drink alcohol and go to bars and clubs - so they granted all the licences to other lowlife scum such as Eddie Fewtrell to operate it. As a result. Fewtrell [and a number of other 'gangsters'] controlled virtually all of the nightlife in Birmingham. These gangsters quickly stablished their own 'territories' and there were regular fights between gangs if other members strayed into an opposing gang's territory. [quite a few ended up in the Grand Union canal as a result of these altercations]. This situation remained pretty much unchallenged until the 1980's when Birmingham decided it needed to 'spruce itself up'. But to be honest it was too late by then. Birmingham had established a terrible reputation for itself by that time and no manner of elaborate facelifts would ever change that.
