A few years back I was really lost and felt down. After watching motivational videos like these I changed my MINDSET. I woke up early EVERY DAY and didn't stop working (mentally, physically, in my relationships) until I felt satisfied I had a productive day. Fast forward a few years - I'm debt free, money is flowing in, I have the best relationship I could dream of, a house, and mentally at peace. Now I started my own YT channel to show all the videos and speeches that helped me through the hard years. HARD WORK PAYS OFF. DISCIPLINE WORKS. YOU GOT THIS.

Basketball and Kobe Bryant gave me everything from life that I was seeking, the desire to push on, irrespective of pain, the courage to rise as the world wants to see you burn, the intensity to push those that want to see you destroyed, to be deaf to criticism, to use intense pain, cuts, wounds, broken bones as a foundation for greatness. Also, everyone's end is sudden, quick and painful, like Kobe, what matters is what we do before that, so that a few people are awed by what we did and pay it forward. Till we meet in the afterlife, Mamba.

I've seen A LOT of Kobe videos on KZbin (even while he was still alive) and THIS is by far TOP FIVE!! It was short, powerful and left you feeling determined. I feel like I don't need to see any other Kobe videos for a while. In fact, after watching this, I think I'm going to take a break from watching them....maybe I'll go back to it on the day of his memorial service (02/24). Not sure. But THANK YOU for posting this. I grew up watching this man achieve great things, saw him play live and enjoyed watching his post-career achievements. Kobe was....excuse me, Kobe IS the true physical manifestation of what I aspire to be......GREAT WHILE ON EARTH!!

On behalf of the sadness going on worldwide, Kobe said it best....it’s not about the destination, it’s about the journey. The destination of working hard might be no different than if you didn’t put one second of thought and hard work into your journey. Even Kobe who said it is now gone. There are so many lessons we can take from his words, but Kobe was talking about working hard...persevering through the nearly impossible....never giving up! Kobe wasn’t talking about being the lowest of the low and using our bitterness to hurt/kill/defame people and/or desecrate buildings, stealing from what others have worked so hard to create for themselves and families...be it a basketball player or a barber!! He was talking about bettering ourselves, NO MATTER WHAT....even if we are already better than we ever expected to be. Keep pushing! To rise up and come out better, for without dignity and self respect to hold our head up about, even if you end up with NOTHING monetarily, we will still be NOTHING as a human being!! People who come from nothing, can still make a name for themselves....just depends on the kind of name you want and how you choose to be remembered and placed in God’s memory book. God has a purpose for this earth!
