How the heart can be broken and blessed at the same time, through the same process is a path out of delusion like no other. The heart is a container, a border, the final argument against returning to our source. Be it a thimble or a chalice, that which it seeks to contain cannot be contained. The heart will break to grow, so why not let the heart break completely? Let it fracture so deeply that the ocean of Self rushes in to meet itself. Then the heart becomes the heart of the beloved. Boundless and without limit.

The love I feel for the depth, nobility and divine gold of islam and the heart of the arabic soul is unspeakable. Love from a christian friend.
@marciestoddard7303 ай бұрын
these teachings are so powerful. the sufis were mostly aligned with mysticism, annihilation of the ego/to merge with God. In Islam, the methods and desired outcomes of practice are very different although it is true that sufism emerged from islamic teachings. Christianity has a similar body of literature in the Christian mystics, who also had a meditative and introspective approach rather than a pious one/one that emphasizes God is separate from the Self. In both of these paths relative to the religions theyre connected to, there is more of a direct experience of God through dissolution of the self.

@@marciestoddard730 over 20 years ago I was told that Judaism stands for light, Christianity for love and Isam for power and the belong to each other. You have nothing when there is no power, (not power OVER) no light and no love. For me it was very helpfull.

I like the following statement what could be a commentary to the text above: »One of our brothers said to me, "I am nothing." I replied, "Don't say, 'I am nothing'; don't say, 'I am something' either. Do not say, 'I need this and that,' nor, 'I need nothing.' But say, 'A l l â h ' , and you will see miracles.« (Letters of a Sufi Master The Shaykh ad-Darqâwî )

Oh my. That’s a heavy duty prayer: "Make me needless of anyone but you" I can only imagine what that might look like. I'm not there. I'm unwilling to pray that. The sense of self, delusion or not, is strong enough to be fearful of that prayer. It’s a wonderful ideal to be sure, perhaps something to aspire to, but at this moment, no. I cannot

@PersisP I can, and do, live without engaging with people much. It’s ok sometimes but mostly I’d rather not. My only focus for the last 9 years is “enlightenment” and or, god realization. 9 years ago was my original awakening, I was struck sober after 35 years of chronic alcoholism. Since then it’s been a long, painful, exhausting, beautiful, wonderful journey to burn away the ignorance that the false self is “me.” Mostly this journey has been full of double mindedness, confusion, frustration and despair. It’s had its moments tho. Moments that have kept me pursuing. I also know that once one is in this particular path, there is no turning back. There’s no stopping or walking away. I’ve tried, many have tried. Im addicted to the non dual loop. Im stuck. I don’t seek fulfillment from or in others, I do however give away what I want to receive. The young Monk went to his master and said “master, I am discouraged. What do I do?” The master said: “Encourage others.” I get, instantly, whatever I intend for others. “God” has been quite the hide and seek show. Always abs already here, closer to us than we are and yet it’s so close we miss it completely. Anyway, one day we will die. The seeking and dream will be over. Maybe we will start another round and incarnation, maybe something else will happen. I hope not. Once is enough. Idk. It’s all just happening of itself. I look for this “me” I think I am and find nothing and no one but the felt sense of a self is sure a persistent delusion innit? Feels like there is a me, a person, someone making choices, suffering this and that, laughing at this and that. Feeling, tasting, touching, seeing, breathing, all these are just happening with no me doing any of it so I continue self inquiry: what am I? Who am I anyway? I share bodhidharma’s answer: I don’t know

Also to not need others, does NOT mean that you can’t be with others, if you enjoy mutually the company of one another. You already know you can enjoy the presence of other people in your life, without any neediness. Take it easy, relax and enjoy my friend ❤🙏

@@youarewhatyourelookingfor4496 All you can do is what you are doing. “He” knows the intentions and devotions of your heart better than you yourself know. When the time is right, unbeknownst to you, without your promptings, without your doing any more than you are doing at this present moment, the force accelerates beyond your control, the propulsion and navigation interfered by His massive Presence and “He” finds you in a most agreeable hour, “In a moment ye know not of,” unprovoked by you, but just that you set your ship “asail” for He which is you, in another moment of time, well forgotten to you presently. The ship, and the waters and the waves have run its course, and you have arrived, awakened.
