AC/DC Worst to Best Albums ranked - Discography Ranked #180
I keep trying to cancel this video series but people keep watching the old videos and writing me back so I here's another episode!
It's the summer of AC/DC! I go on my daily walk in the nice weather and listen to all the gaps in my album collection, and this summer I've been working my way through AC/DC's catalog.
Am I a bigger Bon Scott fan or a Brian Johnson guy? Do I count the Australian original editions or the international and US versions of the early albums. I dig DEEP into AC/DC!
Is Back in Black obviously #1 or is there a dark horse I pick as my favorite like Blow Up Your Video? I'll tell you Fly On The Wall is underrated though and I'll be the guy that sadly craps on their latest album Power Up.

Very entertaining as usual. You could read the phone book and I’d still watch. I agree about Blow Up Your Video. Powerage down at 13 and Rock Or Bust at number 8 is your usual very controversial call. Back In Black and Highway To Hell are their best two I feel. Predictable but true

Thank you for the kind words sir! I thought my most controversial rank was Power Up circling the bottom. The album had so much good will coming out and I was totally bored by it. Yeah, I couldn’t in good conscience put For those about to Rock even though Its my sentimental favorite above Highway or Black. They are indisputable.

Great list. Seems like an ad for ACDC Live. I agree with you on the sound of Ballbreaker. Wonder what Rick Rubin made for making them sound like so dry

LOL! Yeah I really put over AC/DC live. It was one of my favorite albums growing up but didn’t fit the format but I was going to talk it up anyway! I didn’t check but somebody had to have done a remix of Ballbreaker on KZbin. They seem to do it with all albums with bad sound.

I thank everybody who shares a list! It takes time to type it out. Most of our lists are in the same ballpark. I think I’m the one dude who likes but doesn’t love Powerage though which you got at #1. I’m sad Fly on The Wall is at the bottom. I think it’s a hidden gem.

Kind of love AC/DC these album rankings are always fun The early stuff has always been my favourite Powerage, Highway to Hell,TNT Dirty Deeds then back in black and for those about to rock followed by the rest of the bonn Scott music the later stuff kind of follows the same formula but even bland ACCA Dacca is better than most rock bands best efforts but it's all about personal choice be boring if we are loved the same stuff.....

AC/DC has periods in their discography. The early Bon years albums are all similar, the Mutt Lange era, the mid 80's, 90's, modern years. If an album from any of those eras catches you ear, everything from that period is gold since AC/DC would barely change their sound. They're very reliable that way. My strange fascination though is with the mid 80's stuff. My taste drew me to that big arena sound of the 80's production.

Nice AC/DC collection. They made a lot of hits over the years. Highway to Hell is a favorite song and perfect for the Maximum Overdrive movie about demonic vehicles.

Ranking the top 3 spots was a battle in my head but the best song is Highway to Hell. Wish there was a live version with Bon Scott belting it out in packed stadium but he was gone too soon.

17:49 “summer of AC/DC…” My car broke down in June and I’ve had to spend the summer walking. I listened to AC/DC every day while I walked to work, and even though it took me 5x longer to get to work every day, I can say I loved my summer of AC/DC… the album I listened to the most wasn’t eligible for your list, “AC/DC live at River Plate” from the Black Ice tour in 2009, the same tour you saw. I hope to see them if they tour one last time.

If your stuck in a situation with a lot of down time like walking to work, diving a discography is fun as hell. …or a slog like I tried with Yes. Not all their stuff was for me. I always disqualify the live and greatest hits albums even though most of those would probably be my favorites. Gotta keep the lists tight but the budget version of AC/DC Live is my real favorite. Now that the Power Trip show is done and AC/DC doesn’t have to exclusively promote that to sell it out, I’m hoping they’re free to announce one last tour. We know it would be all stadium shows but I’d like to see them in the Boston Garden instead. In a stadium, no matter how close you are your seat still kind of sucks.

Hello my friend! Nice to see a ranking of all AC/DC albums. But did you not forget Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap from 1976? I have seen AC/DC once, on the Stiff Upper Lip tour. Megadeth played as a support act that night. My top 5: 1) Back in black 2) Stiff upper lip 3) Highway to hell 4) The razors edge 5) Flick of the switch Stiff upper lip is just a perfect blues lp and the sound is incredible. :)

Hello again! I got Dirty Deeds in there, it’s at #6. I can’t get into Stiff Upper Lip. I dumped on Power Up but skimmed through it again at work today and still can’t get into it. What’s a song on Upper Lip I should give another chance to? We differ on that album but from your top 5 I see you slant more towards Brian’s stuff like I do. Flick is underrated! AC/DC rumor has it will probably announce one more tour after their one u.s. festival show coming up. Whitesnake is definitely next. I didn’t think I could talk over a half hour on AC/DC so I know I could do a decently insightful video on them.

Sorry, I must have missed Dirty Deeds. Stiff Upper Lip has a nice flow to it. It's a laid back blues album more than arena rock albums that they did before. I like all the songs pretty much. Some of the songs as I Can't stand still remind me of Status Quo. Maybe Satellite Blues is my fave. I like the video too. Powerage would be higher in my ranking, maybe between 6-10 place. Waiting for Whitesnake!

@@piotrlangtvedt Looking back I maybe should have flip flopped Powerage with Who Made Who. Not enough new stuff on WMW even though the title track is a top 5 for me and Chase the Ace instrumental rules but Powerage is a full album.

Yeah my taste in AC/DC is pretty blended. A good band never has you stuck to one era.

Here's my top 5 list - 1. Queen 2. Pink Floyd 3. Deep Purple 4. Black Sabbath 5. Judas Priest - Ac/dc is probably #9 or 10 though.

Yeah dude. There were a few good metal movie soundtracks. Spawn. Freddy vs. Jason. End of days. I know what you did last summer. The crow. Queen of the damned. I was gutted when the last video store over here shut. The only place that sold Baby Ruth I first saw in the Goonies. And Twinkies I first saw in Die Hard. Scored a Flash poster from the cinama today 5 bux not the best pic but it's kinda cool I guess has Keaton on it doing that sad Affleck Batman pose.

By the time Ballbreaker came out they were a stadium act. Nobody wants to hear a stadium band sound like they were recorded in Rick Rubin’s living room.

I did not think that was that controversial when I made this list but it's the one that gets the most flak. It's not like I put it at the bottom. I dunno. Yeah, it's good but sandwiched in between the other Bon albums it doesn't stand out as much for me. Its more of the same from the albums before it and doesn't up the ante like Highway does. The mid 80's albums being higher stand out to me more for being different. Flick sounds evil, Fly sounds metal, and Blow up your video sounds huge.

Firstly pwr up and stiff upper lip are awesome! Secondly they don’t have any compilation albums? How about bonfire and back tracks to name two. and thirdly, since I can tell early on, you’re not really a fan I’m not gonna be bothered watching your video.😳👎

Well if you did watch the whole video you wouldn’t sound so stupid. Bonfire and Backtracks are expensive boxsets and I did mention the Iron Man 2 soundtrack which basically is a greatest hits. Power up and Stiff Upper lip are definitely not top 10 and I’m sure you have a few albums by them you don’t like. Don’t get bent out shape.👎🤮
