Do you think Timothee Chalamet is nearly as good a actor as James Dean was? i put his performance in Beautiful Boy almost up there with Dean's performance in Rebel Without A Cause in terms of power and conviction. Just that same exact intensity as an actor. He's the closest thing I've ever seen to Dean. Just watch his scenes from Miss Stevens..im floored. That's the new James Dean no question.

i don’t know if we’re making the same point here but i agree with this so much in the sense that i feel like all of his best work was before the fame? could be the roles he’s taking now but that rawness from before is lacking in all his recent movies

Timothee Chalamet is the new James Dean, a young Marlon Brando or young Montgomery Clift as an actor fused with touches of a young Depp, young DiCaprio and River Phoenix

Is so sad no body ask him about the physical changes he went through for the character to get to his worst stage, he literally lost 20 lb for the role and because he´s very thin most people didn’t notice and don’t think it was hard, but he said once that, losing that weight help him in the characterization because he was hungry all the time, and it kinda irritates him enough to put it on the performance when Nic was going for the rough time

Hot summer nights was made well before Timmy was a name at all in 2015. It was at least 2 years before he broke out. BB was also made before he broke out so the bigger roles are still to come. The highlight of his acting in CMBYN is the end and he carries that alone.

I don't agree because they waited so long to give Leo his oscar that they awarded it to his performance in the wrong movie. In my personal opinion he had way better performances in other movies than Revenant.

Beautiful Boy is a beautiful film that is compelling, raw, authentic, and honest. One of the best movies of 2018 and the biased critics are being way too harsh about this heart-wrenching film. The film has strong writing and acting while being based on reality. You literally feel the pain and turmoil of the characters. It is an important movie about addiction and deals it with more realistically than most Hollywood films. It proved to be a great acting showcase for Chalamet and Carell.
