Hi Aris, nice in depth explanation as usual. My concern is for those of us that are not into the technical detail associated with setups, and just want to enjoy the game. I've always felt that ACC is badly lacking an in game engineer to help with this, or make the safe, aggressive and wet presets much, much better.

I've played ACC since the beginning and cars felt weird straight away: the suspensions behaved just like match box or cheap OEM not at all like top class, very expensive, racing GT ones. So i've complained a bit on the forum and suddenly there were a lot "bro it's your fault", "bro don't cry if u are slow, just play more" and so onand i've stopper playing it for an year and half. Wondering what those people are bragging about now..

@@bsmracing6592 it’s going to improve other things since the tires are absorbing more. Adjustments will be needed for things that one was trying to compensate for the previous tires.

Hey Aris. Love absorbing info from your vids. I was just wondering something about bump stop ranges and their effects on kerb handling and top speed. I'm just getting into setting up for Nürburgring 24H and I gather a softer suspension set up is better overall. But should I use higher bump stop ranges on both ends of the car for better kerb handling/bump absorption as well as being able to squat lower for top speed, or is it just the rear end that needs a high bump stop range? I'm finding my setups are getting quite aggressive and twitchy on the brakes even in front engined cars 😅

Stiff set ups worked fine in 1.8. At least for the Audi evo 2 and many other cars.. I was routinely able to put up very consistent competitive lap times using stock wheel rates and bump stop ranges,, occasionally i would go a click up on the front bumpstop rates.. The only real adjustments i made were to Damping.. This allowed for a extreamly stable set up with the Audi, Mclaren, and even the Porsche!! Now i feel like i have no choice but to use 0 bump stop range on both front and rear to have a stable car.. To me this is a exploit as the Audi routinely has a rear bump stop range of 20-70 stock.. Using 0 is not realistic while it was easier for the Esports guys to use Exploits vs taking the time to use Motec and fine tune damping, it didnt mean it was impossible to have a stable fast car with stock aggressive set ups with minor tweaks.. Im not the fastest by any means but using stock aggressive set ups with a few damping adjustments and occasionally using 1 click here and there in the mechanical grip section i was able to put up 1:44 at Barcelona, 1:23 at weather tec, 1:44 at Hungoraring, 1:41 at Kalaymi, 1:41 at imola race pace laps. Sure the exploits made for ridiculous hot lap times but it would have been better to fix the model vs changing it completely. Your average sim racer whos been playing the game for 2 or 3 years now has to re-learn how to manipulate the set ups as the stock aggressive set ups offer very little grip even with perfect damping... Online Lobbys were already full of players spining out on half the corners.. This new physics model is going to make that even worse.. Its going to be a nightmare.. Cater to your base not the 100 or so Esports players as they arent the ones keeping the company in business.. Esports could have easily been made more realistic by forcing tire changes, forcing adding a min of 20 liters of fuel thus creating the option for different strategies vs taking 1 liter of fuel and doing a 3 second pitstops and using Gimmick set ups.. They could have easily created paramiters such as not allowing max negative toe by simply removing it from the set up option and making it go no further then .25 which is the highest stock toe setting ive seen. ACC could have simply changed the rate of tire wear vs the entire model. hopefully ill be able to figure out a way to manipulate the physics to make it feel good again but as of right now i absolutely hate it.. Esp when i compare 2 laps on motec and they look identical YET 1.9 IS 2 SECONDS SLOWER.

This is an answer you’ll never get. Aris doesn’t work on the console product so he can’t say (take it from a longtime watcher/console player) Maybe asking the team that does the console would work but I’m not sure who that is exactly. I think there was a change not too long ago. . . (I’m guessing by winter/spring 24, but I like to worst-case-scenario it)

Most likely not as the older gen consoles don't have the computing power to handle the newer Unreal engine updates and the physics updates too. Gonna be stuck on 1.7 but might get liveries and all.

I'm loosing interest in ACC if only paid setups will give me some sort of decent result in any race...!! So, improve the ingame setups or don't bother updating the game...!

Maybe you should learn how to drive and set up a car yourself? It doesn't have anything to do with ACC, it's your inability to see what you're doing wrong, setups cover your mistakes and makes it harder to get rid of bad habits...
