So was I. I loved speed since I was a kid, but was never a fast sprinter and that put me off joining any track teams or taking up the sport till much later. I'm still no elite, but I'm MUCH faster now and I'm continuing to improve. You WILL improve through training, no matter how fast or slow you are.

Do you think that working on accleration in sprinting might increase your overall speed necessary in weightlifing (being faster at going under the bar in snatch for example)? Amazing content Mathias! Greetings from Poland
@hovejoha
@hovejoha 3 жыл бұрын
Yes, absolutely. I think sprint training used correctly does have a positive impact on weightlifting. But one should keep in mind that sprinting is taxing on the nervous system, and thus might cause longer recovery time than a weightlifting session for a weightlifter. Thank you!

So i was at a competition in Serbia, and while doing the cooldown, some muscular guy sprinted past me, I turn around to see who it was, and oh my god i thought, thats Matias! Or so i thought... It turns out you have a identical twin in Serbia or Montenegro(sprinter, blonde, muscular, face 90% identical, form identical, even identical shoes and spikes).. What are the chances

You should post your times on your sprints, (10m, 20m, 30m etc...). As a sprinter who needs to see what elite times look like, this would be very helpful.
@hovejoha

I don't time all my runs. I usually only do timings on tests once in a while. A couple of weeks before this I ran 3.70 for the 30m (60cm from start line to timing gates) kzbin.info/www/bejne/f6aaoHSNrsamfcU

The indoor surface that you run on in these videos, is it hard like concrete/asphalt or softer? Do you avoid super high volumes on this surface or do you just train as normal? Any issues with the shins?
@hovejoha

Hei Mathias. Jeg sliter med en hamstring strekk, og jeg vil bli kvitt den så fort så mulig for å konkurrere igjen. Noen tips? Erfaring? God video :)
@hovejoha
@hovejoha 3 жыл бұрын
Takk.

Mathias if you train twice a day when will your legs recover? I sprint myself and find it hard to hit the track every day with full intensity just once
@hovejoha
@hovejoha 3 жыл бұрын
I can train often because I vary the intensity and focus day by day, and session by session. I never go full intensity in the same kind of session with less than a day between. Building up a training tolerance is also a factor. I started out doing 4 sessions in 2013, 6 in 2014, and so on up to a max of 10-12 consistently in 2018.
