I’m heading to Juneau, Glacier Bay, Skagway and Ketchikan in September with my Grandma and three of my Aunts. I didn’t realize you can go to Mendenhall without a tour. Thanks for that info.

Can you comment on the shuttle. Did you take that to town? That wasn’t the public bus.? I’m confused and hope you can tell me if there is an in between transportation bus between the port and public bus with lift. Thanks

So there is a shuttle that is accessible that goes from this pier to the transportation center. Once you get to the transportation center you can pick up accessible city busses.

Great video! We are traveling there this May, my son is in a wheelchair full time. We are contemplating taking public transportation to Mendenhall glacier. Does the bus from the port allow people to stay in their wheelchair, while bus is in motion? I’m so grateful for this info and great video! Thanks

Yes it does, from the end of the bus line to Mendenhall, you will still have a pretty good distance to go. But I was 69 and very fluffy, and I made it with out any issue.

Where to buy a ticket for the bus to Mendenhall and how far is the bus stop to Mendenhall Glacier Visitor Center?

You can buy a ticket about two blocks from downtown, and you may be able to pay the drive, and the walk from the bus stop to Mendenhall is a little over a mile, I think.
