I have lost my key to a 97 jeep wrangler its not the same as the door keys . It must have been replaced before can I use this method here if not any idea what to do . much appreciated

I can give you a demo on every model made. If the lock isn't perfect and pristine, the reader reads incorrectly and becomes useless. If you live where it snows, rusts, corrodes etc, using these are hit and miss at best. It also doesn't help that most people now use a remote for their car, meaning the key is never, or nearly never used in the lock itself. Nicely designed tool, but if the wafers don't move freely, it reads badly.

Aaron Rowland That's why you always flush the lock with electronics cleaner and run a key blank in and out of it a few times(To exercise the wafers)prior to reading it

@@TheSupertexx I like the cobra readers from lock masters. I've found chysler 8 cut locks can be tricky to pick with a lishis. I prefer a cobra reader or ez reader since you don't have to pick the lock first. Just straight up decode it. Lishis have to pick the lock first before decoding them. Lishis does make direct readers for a lot of things like motorcycles. I prefer the direct readers over the 2 in 1 picks.

Not without putting pressure on the sidebar somehow. You have to rip the face cap off and drill a hole in the ignition to have access to the sidebar. For making keys to chysler products, best thing to do is get the 7 out of 8 cuts in the door. Using a lishis, cobra reader, ez reader, determinator, or a scope. Lockmasters sells a kit that you can use to pick ignitions, on ford's, Chryslers, and gm products. I just go through the door 98 percent of the time. It's faster. You don't have to tear anything apart. And if the car is locked up to begin with. Just take a key reader of some type and read the cuts to get 2-8. Then progressing the first cut is easy.
