The Asinine Attorney episodes are basically fun little romps that are entertaining but not really important story-wise. They're also short enough that you can easily complete them in one video each. I'm glad you're doing them though, since they're actually not included in the remaster for whatever reason.

Pierce Nichody is an interesting villain. Sure, there have been quite a few revenge killers in the series, but Pierce is a perfect example of someone blinded by rage. "Sorin killed my fiancée" was the thought that consumed him. Obsessed with revenge, he couldn't see (or wouldn't let himself see) that Sorin had suffered even more than him (losing his sister *and* getting anterograde amnesia); that Pierce had chosen to treat Sorin first even though Selena's wounds were worse; that his pawn Dumas had also suffered, due to being unfairly scapegoated; and that Ellen, who he wanted dead, was completely innocent, much like Selena was. Given that he was able to realize at the end that what he did was wrong, this was a tragedy that could've been avoided if Pierce had gotten therapy after the accident, or at least had *someone* to talk some sense into him

I would like to point out that NicoB, a man known for his very loud death gurgles when he voices Ace Attorney breakdowns…played Nichody’s breakdown absolutely straight. No frills, no over-the-top deliveries. Man read the room and knew the assignment. And it along with the flatline was chilling. Strongly suggest giving it a watch. Also Nichody being the surprise third time traveler, the one for whom all time has ceased to move as everything moves past him, great twist. Him being the surgeon was hinted at with his first name of Pierce too. For as nostalgia pandering as this case was (at the expense of Athena but they had to keep her out somehow during an otherwise slow time at the office), it really manages to stand up all on its own with the original characters and their dynamics.

In a way, we met 3 time travelers this case. Ellen, Sorin, and Pierce. Ellen reexperienced her wedding night, unknowing that it was actually being held a second time. Sorin, who wakes up every morning to the moment of his sister’s death fresh in his mind. And Pierce, every time he looks at the watch, he brings himself back to the moment he lost his fiancé and reopens the scars of his past. I like to think that the clock working was Selena’s way of pushing Pierce to move forward.

I know the game wants you to present Ellen's Pendant at 36:24, but I feel like presenting the Key of Love SHOULD HAVE worked as well since the Time Keeper can't activate without it either, and it ends up being used anyway. To me, the fact that the game penalizes you for presenting what one would logically assume you SHOULD present is another example of the series' specific logic working against the player.

It’s kinda weird but also kinda fitting that Phoenix Wright’s final case so far in the series is a wedding. Weddings in media are usually depicted as the end of a phase in a character’s arc and it’s cool that this wedding that coincidentally reunited so many people like Maya, Edgeworth, Ema and even Larry. It would’ve been fun to see new characters like Athena and Trucy interact with Maya and Larry, but that ending scene was cute. Those dresses the girls were in were really nice and it’s bitter sweet to see everyone back to the status quo at the very end of this series.

ASININE ATTORNEY TOO!? I'M SEMI-BLIND FOR ME AND I HAVEN'T PLAYED IT MYSELF! LOOKING FORWARD TO IT!

There’s a lot to take away from the ending of this case, so much so that I had to write it out in advance. Pierce really took a 180 in his personality when his true identity was revealed, going from a calm and well-mannered butler to an aggressive and callous surgeon. Him trying to exercise his right to remain silent to avoid self-implication was clever, but his insults to the defense, prosecution, and even the judge did him no favors when he tried to intimidate them with the power of the Sprocket family. Power and influence mean nothing in the pursuit of the truth, and his breakdown was one of the most emotionally intense I think we’ve seen. Still, just as Sorin was a metaphorical time traveler from his anterograde amnesia, Pierce was also held back in time, a time that froze for him when his beloved Selena died. He once told Phoenix and Maya that he wished Sorin would move on from his past and consider the Sprocket family business, yet he refused to let go of the grudge he bore against Sorin, even when it was Selena’s dying wish that he be saved, at the cost of her own life. He wanted Sorin to feel the pain he felt at losing Selena, not realizing or caring that Sorin was already reliving the pain of losing her every time he woke up. At the very least, unlike the blatantly unrepentant criminals that Ace Attorney usually deals with, Pierce at least realized that what he did went against Selena’s wishes, and the watch suddenly starting up again proves that it’s never too late to move on. That moment in particular moved me to tears when I first saw it. Sorin’s proposal to Ellen was very heartfelt, with him vowing to publicly account for his mistakes and foregoing his notebook to express himself through words. The love between these two is the real deal, and it’s wholesome to imagine that His Honor used the judicial power vested in him to marry the two right then and there. I know they’ll be very happy together. =) And then there’s Miles. He was kind of an asshole through this case, implied to be the result of stress from his job and the pressure the Sprockets tried to put on him (and the constant jabs at his lack of appreciation for romance likely didn’t help), but at the end of the day, his highest priority is reaching the truth, no matter what it takes to get there, and he proved that when Pierce was going off the rails. He’s the sort of prosecutor you should be glad to see in a trial, because you know he’ll stop at nothing to see proper justice done in pursuit of the truth. The true wedding reception at the end was a nice combination of sweet and funny. Athena deserved a break after being forced to take a side role dealing with Trucy’s antics, and she, Maya, and Ema looked very pretty all dressed up for the occasion. I don’t much fancy Larry’s chances escaping their collective wrath when he caught the bouquet, though. XD On a more bittersweet note, it’s sad to think that this is the last chronological Ace Attorney story as of this point. I dunno what the future will hold for the series, since the most recent content has been remastered rereleased collections (I loved playing through the Investigations collection, by the way), but if there is a new Ace Attorney game somewhere on the horizon, I’ll be eager to see what will come next for the members of the Wright Anything Agency and their friends.

Also, funny little piece of trivia: Technically speaking, Larry has a little bit of fault for Dumas's murder, after all, if Larry hadn't changed the lamps, Dumas would have woken up in the hall and would have been saved. Larry, unwittingly, helped Pierce kill Dumas.

As entitled as his motive was, I can't help but feel bad for Pierce. Losing his loved one right in front of him, knowing that he could've saved her by disobeying her order, but chose not to... It's no wonder he was so consumed by the trauma. And even when he understood his mistake, it was way too late to make up for anything. Unlike the previous game's DLC, there is no happy ending for this culprit.

Technically a day late, but I'm finally caught up with this LP and MAN, what a finale. (I know we have Asinine Attorney coming up, but we're calling it a finale in reference to the main game lol.) I enjoyed this case before, but your voices and reactions made me absolutely fall in love with it, to the point that it's easily one of my favorite cases in the series now. Even if I didn't love some parts of this case (solely because you'd think Larry would be somewhat matured after a decade, but Larry is gonna Larry), once you get past that, the new characters, the mystery behind the case, the motives, everything is so GOOD. Once you start unraveling the truth, it's a nonstop ride! Seriously, your voices for Ellen, Sorin, and Pierce absolutely sold me on this case and hooked me from the start and I definitely did not cry during Sorin's declaration and their little moment at the end :') I've experienced almost every single Ace Attorney game through you, as well as other mystery/puzzle games like Zero Escape and Danganonpa, and I just genuinely want to thank you for your amazing videos. I know people say this all the time, but you're one of the reasons why I love these games as much as I do! You truly breathe so much life into these stories and characters and I love rewatching/re-listening to your LPs and experiencing all the feelings and things with you (I especially love your Investigations LP!) If you haven't been told it today, you ARE the Ace Attorney Queen and we are forever thankful for your puzzle-solving skills! As other people have said, I would love for you to play The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles! As someone who is halfway through the second game, they're easily some of the best games of the series and there are a few characters in particular that I think you would love! I played this game when it came out. And while I thought wedding setting for the dlc case was interesting, but the case itself only decent, so never gave it too much thought after. But now I'm watching Lucah play this when I'm getting married myself soon, and we are planning to put our vows in a lockbox until we have a big party about a year and a half from now when we open it again and read them. A sort of time keeper of our own, in a way. So this case hits very different now!

Spirit of Justice is like every Phoenix Wright game REALLY strong. Of the 2nd trilogy it IS my least favorite because I just have endless love for 6-2 and 6-5 with next to nothing bad to say about it, while the rest of the game is decent to maybe not as good to me. 6-6 was just a wonderful time of sheer fanservice and just having a good time with many of the original cast and also one of THE BEST openings to a case EVER. Larry’s “bluff” and how that all played out will never cease to get me to die laughing. I think Athena was SEVERELY underused in this game which is so sad because of JUST how amazing she was in Dual Destinies. Not that she doesn’t have her moments but she got the shaft more than ANYONE in this game. Comparable to Trucy in DD after her incredible use in AJ. But they definitely got a GREAT case for us today. This game didn’t have AS good of a conclusive wrap up DD has, and I have seen MANY talk about how we’re waiting on AA7 in the upcoming years. And if anyone says these characters have maxed their usage? I STRONGLY disagree. The potential and routes for these characters is wide so long as you use them around characters that further exploration. Edgeworth is FANTASTIC…I don’t know if there’s any more exploration around Phoenix anymore. I want Phoenix to be around Klavier for his growth. Athena should be around Simon, and Apollo should be around Nahyuta and the royals. (PLEASE let Amara be an overprotective mom to both Nahyuta and Apollo like she is to Rayfa. That would be OUTSTANDING.) There’s LOTS of use for everyone. And I could go ALL DAY on that. BUT, there’s still 2 more games. In a different era. And…THOSE games are phenomenal. So look forward to that. Ace Attorney continues to get me to constantly think and explore and I have nothing but love and respect for it. All 50 cases. The bar of these cases is SO high and I always look forward to more. This is among my favorite video game series and it’s just thoroughly captured my heart.

Edgeworth saying to Pierce after he says “victory is within his grasp” that he only cares about the truth shows his character development from AA1, 2, 3 and the Investigations Duology still kept him a relatively good guy. Also I figured Pierce was the surgeon the second I checked that flashback photo which as you could see, accidentally spoils Pierce as the surgeon given he’s dressed very differently in said picture. Plus he is the final entitled culprit of this game. He thought he was entitled to wedded bliss with the Sprocket heir and when that was denied from him, he took his revenge on Sorin to make him feel the same pain he did, just like Roger, just like Geiru and yes just like Atishon.

Fun fact: all you had to do at 22:37 was select literally any of the fog. Its like half the photo and you got it wrong twice /lh
