When i was a child about 8yrs, i spent summers with my grandparents at the cottage, a retired birdwatcher installed several birdboxes nearby & i followed him around every wk as he checked the boxes for nests, # of Eggs & # of chicks . As yrs went by he needed help to check his boxes & i gladly stepped up! His last summer before he died he was no longer able to check his beloved birds, so i carried the ladder & his diary & reported my findings to him every wk. Thank you Mr. Pritchard, you turned me into a birdwatcher.

In my experience, coots are great parents. Fierce defenders of territory too. This summer, a pair of coots raised 3 nests without losing their chicks. 10 in total. I've watched out for them, all summer, a few meters from my garden. These newborn chicks are adorable with their funny red heads. The parents worked hard all summer, to feed them. Without competition.

At the Local Pond ;• A Duck had a single duckling. (The (too many) Nil-Geese seem to kill all other chicks. (The male Swan really hates and chases them!)). Anyway;• the single duckling was giving his mom a rough time, while always wanting to explore a different direction than where she just went. After a while, my attention shifted. Untill I heard a duckling call it's mom from the middle of the pond. There was no response. Tini duckling (max. 1 week old?) swam from one side of pond to the other side, calling his mom. Pipipipipiipipipipiipipipiipipipipiipipipiiipipipiipipiiipipippipiiipiip... for I don't know, it felt like an hour! Finally there was one quaak from the air already, as she landed near mid pond. The little one excitedly approaching her: pipipipipipipipipipip. She patiently waited for the little duckling to arrive, then one quack, and she led him home. Beneath a small bridge is a passage to the other larger pond, where most water birds have their nests on an island. I watched this Duck family for the rest of the summer. That duckling never again left it's mom's side, untill it grew big enough to do so.

There's lots of those birds in my hometown in Poland, I love them (they are my favs to watch as well as great crested grebes). They keep spending time together as families even when their chicks are almost adult (most water birds I know are caring parents actually). Observing them chilling and eating water plants is so soothing. They are also extremely comical when they dive for food you give them (we have dispencers with good quality bird food all over town) and just pop back up due to high buoyancy. Also nice to hear so familiar bird sounds in your vid :D I am very used to their callings.

A long time ago I saw one of your videos. We had adopted some chickens back then and one of them hatched eggs, one of the eggs was late and inspired by your video I tried hatching the egg myself. I managed to make it work with a toaster/convection oven and my chick grew well (thought I might even see her chicks soon, it had been more than a year since she was born) enjoyed every moment of it. Unfortunately for me she was killed by some dogs a month ago, but the experience remains. Thanks for showing that it can be done, and great work helping animals. Every time my chickens and their chicks need help I now confidently help them, instead of feeling insecure about if I can, and if the natural course of things" knows best".

Honey, that is beautiful. Nature constantly amazes me with Her resilience and tenacity, and, sometimes, She needs a helping hand. It is wonderful to be able to help, and to see a life lived that would not have without a hand from you. It is always a hurt to the heart when we lose a friend we have helped, but they keep a little piece of us, even when they are gone.🖤🇨🇦

He has done good work, but interfering with wild animals is not necessary. Any human interference automatically disadvantages animals, especially babies after they have imprinted on people. So therefore, this video is not truly good work because the babies are even less likely to survive due to the human interference. All for a video and some likes.

Hey Albert, i must say you are doing such a great job. I have seen other birds hatching channels, but yours, i found the most interesting, how you describe your emotions to that bird and every little detail and time you spent with the birds, it really inspired me alot, one thing, that i think you should do, is to increase the frequency of such beautiful videos you make. Love from Pakistan, if you want any type of eggs or some special bird from Pakistan, i will send you. Your passion inspired me alot boy. Keep it up.

As a warning, tampering with wild birds' nests/eggs/chicks is EXTREMELY illegal in the majority of places. Nobody should ever try this at home unless they are licensed to do so.

I'm from the same country he is and I've done a decent amount of wildlife rehabilitation in shelters and I very much doubt he has a valid license. And even if he does, this is still not allowed. Neither is purposefully raising a crow to be tame, or releasing Egyptian geese back into the wild (they're extremely invasive). So IF he has a license, I would not be surprised if it gets revoked. Because the way he handles rehab is extremely irresponsible most of the time from a legal and/or ecological standpoint, as far as I've seen. Don't get me wrong, he's great at raising birds, but raising birds =/= rehabilitating birds. The diamond dove video almost made me cry, it was so cute But most of his videos that involve wildlife have me cringing
