A trick you can do to lower the temperature in a room for a while is washing the floor with water. The water will slowly evaporate and lower the temperature of the room. Another trick is closing the windows and the blinds, making the room dark: the warmth is coming from outside, having your windows opened will only allow more heat to come in. The moment the sun goes down you open everything so the colder air goes in .

The stuff about focus trees is so true. I have less than 50 hours in the game but between playing Germany for a bit and Turkey for a bit I'm amazed at how much of a labyrinth Turkey's tree is compared to Germany, which is far from the worst unique tree in the game. Turkey's also has a lot of 35 day focuses so you can get the Sultan brought back by 1939 easily, probably earlier if you go straight for and don't do the improve military focuses.
