That sounds like an interesting album. I’m not sure I will ever see it in the wild but I would pick it up on the cover alone. Your location looks fantastic.

I’ve been enjoying these Acid Archives videos. I did make one myself and most likely will do another one. That album cover is great and your description of the music sounds interesting.

Alex, I listened to ''Artificial Horizons'' on-line. It sounds like subpar Bruce Haack or Tod Dockstader. The flute and dulcimer parts sound like incidental music from the original Star Trek TV episodes. I do love that Op Art cover, although ''you can't judge a book by it's cover''.

there's definitely an amateurish feel to it, but kind of works for me. never got in haack, anything in particular you recommend?

@@diamond_marimba Alex, start at the beginning with ''The Electric Lucifer'' from 1970 on Columbia. Also check out Haack's appearance on the Mister Roger's Neighborhood TV show!

Nice entry into the Acid Archives thread. Definitely seems like a record I would be into. Great description too. I’ve been struggling with the thread a bit more than I thought; seems most of my obscure releases in this area tend to be more in the garage-rock category. (The Neanderthals). But thankfully, I have found a few so I need to get a video done. Btw. Beautiful view; as a native Detroit and city boy my entire life, I am always awestruck by the purity of the natural environment. Enjoy it. I may not see that view very often but I am forever grateful that it is there and (hopefully) protected. Be well. Shawn

Good ole Baldy. Was hoping they would get some good storms like last year so I could ski it again. Hope you are doing well. Cheers!

I don't ski but I do want to have a drink at the cafe near the summit sometime

Hey Alex in the mountains, Beautiful...reminds me of Flagstaff. Needless to say, my curiosity is sparked here. Lone mad scientist creating electro-acoustic it sounds, and in the suburbs no less.... 🙂Looking forward to getting into this, and shall report back soon. Thanks! -Carm

Suitable setting for this one in a way..love this one but you know that well already 😉... Would have been interesting to hear a full blow folk lp from him based on the sample sizes on the lp..might have fallen into dorothy carter territory.. Anytime I see echoplex I am there..lol..nice addition to the Playlist brother.

yeah not sure what happened to behrens after this, ever hear any rumors?

@@diamond_marimba not much about him that I could find beyond this lp..I bet he has an interesting history though..and with social media today you never know if out of the blue something pops up.

"Risking life and limb for the acid archives". That's the line of the year...Interesting that Tom Behrens didn't record much else cause this one has so much going on. So many ideas thrown against the wall. Another dormant w/l item for me, perhaps it'll turn up. Does remind me of the Head lp as well as the subsequent records under Nick Raicevic which are somewhat confusing but mining some of the same territory. Oddly, the Head record and the Raicevic lps are NOT in the archives. Good stuff. (editor's note, the HEAD lp IS in the archives under the original release Numbers Band, aka 15:60:75 but I literally can't locate it in the book since its a number)
