Kimberly, this is so good. And by using the example it is more clear. I have a question, what would you suggest to arrive at the actions if the business goal is lack of knowledge? For example Lack of knowledge about investing. Thank you
@KimberlyGoh
@KimberlyGoh 2 жыл бұрын
Thanks so much, Sejaal! That's a great question. If it's truly lack of knowledge situation (ie. you're teaching students in a school and the goal is to help them simply pass a test), action mapping might not be needed. But if you're giving people some foundational knowledge about investing with the goal of helping them make better investment decisions, then those decisions themselves are the actions you want them to take. Think of all the wrong decisions they might make, and the bad things that might happen to them later if they make that choice... I hope that helps! If you want more information, I've just launched a course called "How to Create Powerful Branching Scenarios" that will cover action mapping in more depth. Really well-done video. Thank you. Do you use action mapping together with a traditional ID model like ADDIE or instead of one?
@KimberlyGoh
@KimberlyGoh 2 жыл бұрын
Thanks so much, J! I use Action Mapping instead of other models like ADDIE, because I find Action Mapping gets to the root of the business problem more quickly. Wonderful video👌. Very well explained about Action mapping. Thank you, Kimberly. Im new to ID, I'm wondering if action map is replacement for need analysis. Could you please help me understand the difference between both? Have a great day!
@KimberlyGoh
@KimberlyGoh Жыл бұрын
Thanks so much, Srinivas! That's a great question. Action mapping actually includes many aspects of needs analysis, such as determining the main business problem and whether training will help. The difference is that Action mapping is a very specific approach based around achieving a particular, measurable performance goal. Needs analysis tends to take a lot of forms, depending on the ID or the organization. You might ask some of the same questions, but the questions can become too broad or narrow, so it's easy to get distracted from solving the performance problem.
