I spent 2 hours setting up the game, then 1.5 hours for CC (Rook and Inquisitor). When I finally could play I was pretty tired. But, hey! What do you think about the combat because I liked it as well as the quality of the textures and shadows. The game seems beautiful even though I'm not a fan of this art style.

Since now I can say it, that little eye “F you” Solas does after he stabs Varric is so well done and realistic. That tiny up and down motion of his eyes right as Varric staggers back was pure spite. It made me want to slap him. Like he was silently saying, “well, look what you made me do, fool”. Then the regret hit a few seconds later, and he seemed to remember himself. I don’t care what people say about the game, some of the cinematics are spot on.

So true! I literally gasped!!! I really enjoyed Lucanis's little glance towards us (at the camera) when he first appeared. Oh, that was both chilling and exciting 😂 He almost saw me there!

I may have lost sleep and changed my work schedule only to get through the CC and prologue. So emotional, excited, and happy.

That's great that you enjoyed playing it! Joining you here regarding changing schedule starting from next Monday haha. If only I could, I would play it non-stop to see the final act that people praise so much 🥳

It the like button so fast, even before listening to the video. This is the review I've been waiting for, for better or worse. I've been playing a limited amount between work hours, so I haven't been able to form a decent opinion of it quite yet. I will say, the rogue combat seems more fluid than the mage combat based on the two character's ive made.

I managed to create a build for my mage and she destroyes everything. If everything is used correctly, you can kill a champion of level 35 when Rook is only 21.

Your Rook is cutie indeed 🥰 As for the game, apparently weird marketing was on point with the feel it would give once it's out, and I am 15 hour in on the campaign and a bit conflicted. I withhold final judgement till finish, but so far writing feels off to me. But it sure looks pretty, no argument here.

Don't let me even start about it 😭 I'm conflicted too because the game is 100% fun. I have a lot of work, so I just recruited Lucanis, did something personal for Bellara, and my next quest is about Grey Wardens, so I think I'll get Davrin soon. It's like...I like it but it's not Dragon Age, you know? I have to play the whole thing to say more 😅 but your emotions and concerns are very welcome because it looks like many have the same vibe

@@ImpGoose I can see DA DNA under all this glitter, but it diluted, polluted and cross bread with some weird aliens. And somehow shoved into PG-13 rating after years of existing in category for Mature audience. It's concerning. I'm concerned 🤔

@@ImpGoose =) I remember I got annoyed with Dragon Age: Inquisition because character in character creator always looked nicer than in actual game cutscenes. I gave up in the end. I am curious whether this is the case with new entry?

I know what you mean, surprisingly it ended after the intro when they explained the world and other stuff. Starting from the mission with crossroads, it went pretty well for me 🤣

The environments are gorgeous. I’d rather see DA2/DA:I character art styles, but combat is fun! …I didn’t sleep well the night before Veilguard’s release, and by 2 am PST I was hdd as of dead! After my third time realizing Rook was just standing there or walking into walls I had to go to sleep. 😂

Understandable! I went to sleep at 4 am 🤣 What we like about DA2 and DAI is called vintage now! If I could I would make a video game for the old school's sake, you know. I even have a story! We just need a person who has around 14 million dollars and is not afraid to lose it 👀😅

What you're saying without realizing it is "I want 2011 and 2014 graphics engines in my 2024 games. They updated to a modern graphics engine and they tend to do a "beautify filter" version of character faces. It seems to be a 'limitation' a forstbite and unreal in instances where you can customize characters.

@ You’re correct, they did drop the ball. It’s also strange (to me at least) that the hair physics are great, environments are amazing… …but the character art isn’t good? Makes no sense to me.

@@davidradach9311 play one of the generated characters. They all look good. If you make one that looks dopey how is that the games fault? You're right about one thing. None of that makes sense. I've been in this game like 15 hours since launch. 2 full workdays already and it just came out. I've never noticed a single characters face that looks bad. Not even one.

@ Cool! I’m glad you like the art style. The character art isn’t a dealbreaker for meat all, I’m having a lot of fun. I definitely can’t complain about that! I just got Lucanis.

F*ck, it gives me such a headache :/. Is it possible to play with closed eyes ;__;? But at least game should be rather short, so I do not have to "pay it" (and never be the owner :P), game pass for EA for one month should be enough.

I understand your frustration and I sincerely have no idea how it works, but I don't see it when I play and the game is actually fun to play but hard to watch 🤔 Idk why haha But hey, EA pass is a great option to try it. Or you can become Isabella...if you know what I mean 🏴‍☠️🤣
