Yes!! Worked perfectly for my 2017 SLC300, fully enabled the Android Auto, took 30 seconds. This is the only video which explains the actual mechanism for enabling these features when they are absent from the top-level menus. Went to two Mercedes service depts, they were clueless.

You need a OBD2 activation tool, after that it will be activated. I had the same problem.

I would appreciate if someone advice or guide, I went into the engineering mode and activated carplay since my car is equipped with it. But as soon as I save and exit to go reboot the system I can see that the option is back to off and for as much as I keep toggling the option back on as soon as I leave the page it goes back so the carplay option never shows on my screen when I connect my phone.

Hello, I succesfully go into engineering mode, i do everything the tutorial suggests but i can't seem to activate android auto. The only difference between my car and the tutorial one is that in the variant coding page 2, on the remote ui applications section, the remote ui services, carplay via usb and automotive link via usb are all off by default. Once i turn them all on and i restart the car the modifications i did do not apply, apart from the ci screen type. Do you have any suggestions? Edit: my car is a mercedes a160 from 2017 if it can help identify the problem

Pause the video at 1.56 and make sure the code numbers on the android auto/drive levels match his. You use the car keypad to change them.

Odd, I have a 2017 A class and I can only access the Variant Code menu option when I disable log marks instead of enable which seems to be the default. Rest of the settings I follow as you described. Menu's are identical but it's a no go for me unfortunately.

I managed to get onto the engineering menu and I changed the loading screen which proves it saved that setting however it does not save my settings regarding the remote UI applications. On my screen it has it set that the RUI settings are off for remote UI. I have tried to mirror your selections on this video but when I go to set the page it doesn't save my changes. Any ideas????

I have been able to go into the engineer menu only after doing a factory reset on the vehicle menu. Unfortunately, variant coding menu is the only one greyed and I could not go further in my attempts to switch Android Auto. I needed to hold down end call, 1, 3 and hash. You also need to make sure that the codes at the very bottom of the page match the ones on the video , you use the telephone pad to change the digits. Pause the video at 1.56 to see the codes.

I would expect it to be there, but it could depend on the manufacture date. I would check it out during the test drive. If Android Auto isn't already there, then see if you can activate it in the Engineering Menu.

Hey, I'm having trouble getting into engineering mode. Car is on, infotainment is set to same page in navi tab when I try to press buttons. Nothing happens. I tried all mentioned buttons at the same time and also pressing them from left to right with minimal delay and holding them together but with no luck. What am I missing? It's 2017 w246 B class but the screen has ticker bezels.

Check the radio, you might have a different version and need to hold different keys down to get into the menu. I think this for the NT5.1
