Thanks for the update. I own the 2.0 and love it for detailing my personal car at home. I'm using the stock nozzles and using the 1.25 orifice in my foam cannon. The pressure is more than enough at 1000 PSI and I believe it's the 2.0 GPM that makes it feel like more than 1000 PSI. My Griot's Garage Boss foam cannon is producing tons of foam with the 1.25 orifice. An unexpected benefit is that it's much quieter than my last pressure washer. Speaking as an enthusiast detailer who is only interested in an electric pressure washer, this is an ideal unit for my needs.
@ACTIVEPRODUCTS2 жыл бұрын
People need to experience that the substantial flow rate increase actually provides more cleaning force than higher PSI with low flow. So the “feels” when you pull the trigger are much stronger than 1000psi would suggest. I wish people could compare the feeling with a unit that runs at 1600psi but 1.0. Doesn’t feel near as powerful.

I just received mine two weeks ago and it is a complete Game Changer. I tossed out my old Ryobi and I'll never go back to another big box pressure washer again. I did hook it up to a 50-foot hose which works perfectly and I found that with a 1.25 orifice in my mjjc works great the 1.1 I can tell puts a little bit of a draw on the motor cuz it sounds different so the 1.25 is perfect I also notice that with a 3.5 orifice nozzle tip has great pressure and great flow for the pre-rents and the 5.0 orifice nozzle is great for the rinse down and still has plenty of pressure to move soap and water around again this machine is wonderful I'm telling everybody about it. The only suggestion I would have for active is to include some stickers with their products so people can probably show off what they're using

We just received a response from our engineering team. The reason for the slow wind-down is to decrease stress on the motor and pump from abruptly stopping. So the engineering team purposely designed the wind-down to be slower so that the shock from the releasing the trigger will be more gradual. Hope this helps.

@@ACTIVEPRODUCTS It does help understand what is "built in." I have also noticed that it cycle on when not in use sometimes. In other words I m busy soaping my car with a mitt and the pressure washer will suddenly just cycle on for 10-20 seconds. Maybe not even that long.

Slow wind down is it takes 1-2 seconds to stop. He is talking about it continuing to run. I have the same issue. Decrease the pressure by not turning water on all the way and this helps reduce pressure, turns off quicker like it should, and stops automatically starting as much.

Yeah I think some people were hoping for a large increase in performance from the VE52 to the 2.0, but I think Active has done a good job of saying that it's about 8%. Some of the back to back tests in videos are showing close performance but I really think that's just testing error and setup variance. The 2.0 definitely appears to have the performance boost, but also more importantly has the longer designed operating life, tiny physical footprint, and improved inlet/outlet. I'm glad I haven't really seen negativity towards the performance gap yet, but I feel that may be coming as the internet does these things.
@ACTIVEPRODUCTS2 жыл бұрын
we try to be honest with the performance figures and also try to maximize the “benefit” of each product. You are correct that the 2.0 has better performance as well as other benefits that some customers will value. Thanks for your comments and support!

@@ACTIVEPRODUCTS Yeah I think you guys do a great job of that, it just seemed like some people had some expectations from the VE52, which like Active has stated, is basically the best performing unit anywhere near its category. @active i bought the CAT brand in Denmark last week. Got a machine produced in 2021 so it has surging issues on longer 50 ft hose. The shops do not seem to have the updated VE54 in Denmark. Is there a version of the CAT in Europe with the latest updates like the on off valve update?

So I tried using my new 2.0 with a 50ft Kobra Jet hose and I have been having issues with the pump not shutting off. I have no leaks anywhere whatsoever. I let water run through with the machine for 90 seconds to purge all of the air. The problem is persistent yet intermittent with a shorter hose. Hoping to hear back from customer service soon. This started happening the first time I used it. It’s going to be really frustrating if a 50ft hose can’t be used, I don’t feel like that is extremely long by any means and I was planning to make a nice wall set up with that hose on a reel and everything.

I don't think anybody should take performance into account when deciding which to get or to upgrade form the VE52. It is about the form factor, quality and longer life for me to get the 2.0. I will say that the 2.0 with the stock orifice does feel better than the VE52 and the pattern is much more uniform between the two. Now if you like and use the stock accessories I think the VE52 is the better choice just because of all the storage the unit has for them.
@ACTIVEPRODUCTS2 жыл бұрын
At the end of the day, a person should purchase a pressure washer depending on purpose and what they will be cleaning. While there is a performance increase in the Active 2.0, both the 2.0 and VE52 were designed with different considerations in mind.

I've had my unit for a few months now, and I'm really enjoying it for detailing my car. My only comment is that, compared to the VE-52 I was previously using, the 2.0 has a noticeable wind-down of the motor when you release the trigger of the gun. The VE-52 shut off pretty much immediately, while the 2.0 takes a few seconds to spin down. I don't know if this is normal or not, but I believe I've heard it doing the same thing during review videos I've seen online.

Why can't I use a 3/8 x 50 uberflex with 4000 psi?
@QuyLe4082 жыл бұрын
I ordered this unit from OG. I used it with my uberflex hose and it doesn't seem to like it. The pump would not stop running after you release the trigger. So the unit would constantly stay on running. Have there been any test with active 2.0 and ubflex hose? I reached out to OG for help / return but still no reply after 48hrs, such bad service on their end. I also called active customer support and the rep told me that uberflex is not compatible with this unit is this true?
@ACTIVEPRODUCTS2 жыл бұрын
The Uberflex hose is not steel braided, which results in excess expansibility of the hose under pressurized water. Preventing the pump from reaching peak pressure when trigger is released. There is no issue on the 2.0 with hose length. But it is better to have a hose which is steel braided to prevent hose expansion.

I wanted to get this unit but after seeing comments like this i have to rethink it. I mean if this unit was made for detailers, than you would assume you can use a 50 foot hose or even 100 without the machine having issues. Plus i see that the machine struggles with using foam cannons that have 1.1 orifice on them, which also doesn't make sense since those are used by detailers.

@@ACTIVEPRODUCTS I have had some back and forth e-mails with Active Support (all good and prompt support) regarding the pump not shutting off after releasing the trigger using the 50' Uberflex hose. At that time, I think this problem was new, and the suggestion was to buy another hose to try. I didnt do this. The unit does work perfectly with the stock hose provided with the kit, but it's too short to get around a vehicle without moving the unit. If this is a known issue, can Active recommend a 50' steel braided replacement hose for current 2.0 owners to purchase. Or make the stock 25' hose available as a separate item to purchase on the website. Thanks in advancer your prompt response!!

just wondering, under what condition, it will reach 1800 psi? OG test it was 950 PSI with 4.0 nozzle
@ACTIVEPRODUCTS Жыл бұрын
The 1800 PSI rating is a measure of maximum rated internal pressure, not working pressure. It’s an unfortunate way to rate a pressure washer but it is currently the flawed standard. What should be measured (and rated) should be working pressure - as in - the actual pressure your working with at the tip. Our unit will get you 1100 psi and 2.0 gpm with our included nozzles, but some people play around with nozzle orfices to restrict flow and drive pressure higher (this is not recommended as it can cause issues with longevity, overheating etc). What job are you doing that requires 1800 psi? Perhaps the greater flow is more important for your specific task.
