In gaming a publisher is defined as a company that sells games. And a dev is defined as those who create games. Both titles fit acquisitions by both MS and Sony. So there is no difference.

MS is a multi-trillion company (and now the third largest gaming company). I know gamers tunnel-vision on the gaming side, but MS has Cloud, Office, and Windows which brings in tens of billions of profit each quarter and each one of those divisions are worth significantly more than Xbox. 😂 As long as MS is getting to their desired goals and making Xbox profitable, it’s not about “beating Sony in revenue.” Believe it or not, companies aren’t as focused on beating each other in the console war as much as gamers are.

honestly, seeing companies that produce systems buying gaming companies kinda freezes my coffee (mostly due to being not a fan of exclusives) a lot of small franchise die when bought by bigger companies (ie: all small companies bought by EA that ended up closing down... kinda how we lost the goat of arcade racing.. RIP Burnout) some projects just get rushed so much that they end up just getting canned and forgotten all that to say, having all these spinning plates in the hands of one big company is so dangerous for games, i mean, yeah, in one hand, they might get bigger budget for production, but that comes with a giant shadow overlooking and pressuring projects games'll end up being rushed, and come out undercooked hopefully, i'm wrong in my train of thoughts, but that's what scares me

Phil has been on record saying that now that they have beefed up their content nad game studios, they'll be able to release games in a good cadence, but also be able to provide ampale time to the studios for the games they're making. GamePass isn't dependent on one single game which allow s more creativity and risk. @@neon13602 I have Transformers 1, Revenge of the Fallen, the Cybertron Duology and Devastation for 360, I doubt they'll make Devastation compatible since there's an Xbox One and PS4 version...But I hope the rest become compatible, I want to play those games so badly on my series X with the Series X controller.

Oh man this is so awesome! I love it when a trillion dollar company buys a billion dollar company so they can put all their games onto yet another streaming service that's is going to go up in price every other year! Why buy a game once when you can buy it every month! For everyone worried that this is a monopoly, it 100 percent isn't a monopoly because Xbox is in 3rd place and they are clearly really having a hard time :( so its only fair that we let them buy up everything to remain competitive. Plus it has been stated multiple times that Call of Duty will still be coming to Playstation, and game pass has not gone up in price for a bit, that is mainly sony charging more Edit: turns out Embracer Group owns mote studios then Sony and Microsoft combined, same with Ubisoft. Those two companies own over 50 percent of all studios

It's quite telling that when Crash 4 was released, it was called Crash Bandicoot 4, and not Crash Bandicoot 8.
