Acura MDX AC dont work Bad Relay DIY check Fuse & Relay

Hey, man...thanks for the video. I had similar problems with a 2003 Toyota Corolla a few years ago, and purchasing/replacing the associated relay fixed the issue. Your video helped me to confirm it was likely the same problem with our 2007 Acura MDX and showed me which relay to check (basically the same in our 2007 model as with the 2010 model in your video). I tested by pulling another identical relay from one of the other relay slots and inserting it into the AC clutch relay slot, and sure enough the AC started working again. I picked up a new relay at a local auto parts store for about $7, and the AC on our MDX is back to normal. I love it when such an inexpensive, do-it-yourself text-and-fix saves the money I'd have to spend at an auto repair shop. Thanks again!

Driving around for 6 months with no working AC in my 08 Acura RDX. The AC would kick on and then turn off randomly. It pissed me off so much. Thank you @RB. You save me hundreds of dollars and hours of my time. I am mechanically inclined and have replaced plenty of ac compressor so I was already mentally preparing for that. I havent ran into any ac relay problems until now. I found your video and did exactly what you said. In my case it worked and I guess I am fortunate for now. I noticed that my acura mdx started to blow air not as cold as before, the rear didnt blow cold air at all, switched the relay and noticed there was a loose sound in the ❄ relay. Got a new one and problem fixed! Thanks

Hi, my Mdx Acura 2014 started to blow not so much cold air when I was stop in traffic, now is blowing air but hot air all the time, took it to the dealer they didn’t want to work on it bc 😢I took it somewhere else to fix something else and they are saying there is a lot of mess of cable to find the problem but they told me apparently is a electrical issue, what you can recommend to do 😢, I fix the clutch like 3 yrs ago and when it was new the back air stopped working Acura dealer fixed, I’m so worried it can’t be fix and have to get a new car . Check to see if the heatore valve works it’s u see hood close to fire wall connected to heatore hoses some times it’s broken it will not turn internally or the wire is off

I think you might have low Freon in the system I have had those few times ac works cold then gets warm it’s that once Freon come around it makes cold then the cycle is dry and it gets warmer mild and it repeats it def well try relay sometime those get hot and cut off ac and then kick back on

AC issues with 2012 MDX. Stopped getting cool air into cabin in sections - first the driver's, then the passenger's and lastly the back. Got up next AM and AC was operational. Took it to dealer to have it checked as we were on a trip and really wanted the cooler air in the hot temps. Diagnosic check showed nothing as it wasn't acting up. Dealer replaced the relay. Drove it around town that day; it was fine. Headed out on the road the next day and after about 6 hours of driving, the AC went out again - slowly by cabin sections. We are no longer in the area of the dealership that worked on the AC. Any ideas?

Try the relay again but it’s wierd how it quits section by section it could be blend doors or the controls try letting it cool off that’s all you can do for now also see if the low side is cold u see hood. If it’s cold then ur system is working and making cold it could just be internal bleeding door problem

@@marywatt5116 well check the line u set hood u will see 2 lines that are aluminum the fat one is low side. If it’s cold the system is working and making come then it’s door issue

For some reason the battery is draining and car won’t start. I noticed the heat/ac fan will not shut off when car is shut off. Any insight on what can be causing this issue?

When I shut the car off and remove the key from the ignition, I still hear and feel air coming out of the vents inside the car where heat and air conditioner comes out from. I followed your instructions and replaced the relay mentioned in the video, but that did not work.

Well fuse and relay are the basics check change both other wise u need to see if the system have freon pressure and check power to ac compressor

I'm so happy to watch your videos, but I have a question. I have a 2019 AcuraMDX and I currently have 14800 miles on it. But today I found that the air-conditioning in my car is gone. I can feel some air-conditioning in the morning and evening, but there is no air-conditioning at noon. The aircon was working fine when I was using the car last week.I have run out of refrigerant in 4 years, is this a normal phenomenon?I have my hood open and when I turn on the A/C there is heat coming out of the front of the car and when I turn the A/C off the heat is gone. You might have low Freon and it may need re charming donac service ac ac dye to trace for any leaks

My back AC on the mdx works perfect, the front AC blows air but it’s not cold air at all, (it’s hot air or just air from the engine idk). I don’t know if it’s a relay or if it’s the Air mix motor. Any answers to what might fix it

@@gonskii8168 ok play around with temperature knob put temp high low high low and also tap the blend door motor have some one help u it prolly start working I believe that’s what it is the blend door motor u can also unplug it take out the bolts and turn it by hand

Change out ur relay. Hopefully that works if not then next step is to do ac service it could be low on Freon with air pressure worst Come to worst ac compressive gives up making pressure with us rare with Acura MDX

2007 Acura MDX has front blower motor issues AC compressor works, blows cold air to rear of vehicle. Replaced the front blower motor, as well as the resistor. Will try replacing the relay and fuse as you suggested. I noticed you mentioned a AC blend motor that may be a part of the problem. Any suggestion?

Ok are u able to hear the motor run? Blend door is just a door that will open either hot or cold side but air will still flow. But there is a mode door motor which makes air go to defrost face or to feet maybe that got stuck at point where it was cutting all air. Anyways can u hear the motor run u can also open and pull out the cabin filter and put the motor on to see if it blows air u can even see if it’s spinning. Let me know if u can conform motor runs

Patrick Langlois there might be read ac blend door motor you might have to look in to it the system is one for the whole car so if front blows cold rear is cold also the air door might be stuck on heat side

Herakles dose the ac compressor turn once u do this if it dose touch the fat act line to see if the ac is making cold if compressor turns and ac line is not cold or very little then u need freon

Does the relay have to be installed facing a certain way? Can you put it in backwards if you forget what way it was facing when you took it out

DEX 1000 it can only fit one way usually the legs are designed diff angles or it has a slot that will slide on. Cannot will not be able to install it wrong 🤗

Hi, When you say the AC was not working what do you mean exactly? Was the blower working, was it blowing hot air or nothing at all? I have an issue where the blower is working but the air is not cooling. What do you suggest for that?

J Martinez J Martinez yes the blower was working blowing hot air check the relay and fuse it’s very very common on the Acura’s and Honda’s after that if it still don’t work check if ur system have r134 in the system

I have a question regarding no power to the blower motor. I’ve changed the relay and the fuse but still no power. A friend suggested changing the resistor for the blower motor. Am I missing a fuse somewhere that’s critical to check before advancing with the resistor?

RB The Mechanic am unable to check variable speeds due to the climate controls being controlled through head unit. The head unit asks to check disc(Have looked into it and requires an updated disc). Is there a way to check the resistor for functionality?

Great Video! I have a question about a 2014 Acura MDX seat memory issue. The Led indicators on the door showing Driver 1 and 2 settings no longer function and none of the 3 buttons respond when pressed. Seat, mirrors, steering wheel move just fine; Just the automatic memory function seems to have stopped working. I was looking for a fuse in the box you show in this video but had no luck. You wouldn't happen to know which fuse is for the Seat Memory system do you?

there are fused under hood my software dosent pin point it but finder fuse for power seats memory seat and ceck the fuse if fuse is good pull the fuse for about 3 minutes it will reset the system also check if the motors r working
