She did help him remember a bit of his traumatic past, but I can't say her "treatments" do wonders for him mentally :'/ poor Emile perhaps some things are better left forgotten

I know this is 6 months late, but I believe most of the problems her hypnosis treatments cause for him are physical, not mental. I think what makes their relationship more toxic is that, despite the fact Ada does have a love connection to Emil, she is still very focused on her own hypnosis treatments and testing it with him. She's using him to do her experiments and learn more about her hypnosis, and thus she is kind of treating him more like a valuable object rather than a person.
