Zo prachtig! Liefde Liefde Gert. Wim van Halm

My little "Bapticostal" church actually sold the little organ so now we have a keyboard, guitars and drums. Baby it just doesn't take me to the Throne Room the way a pipe organ does. I'm so happy that I have a "Band of Brothers" out in the Ethernet that shares my enthusiasm....especially for Gert. Jonathan Tom Scott are right up there with Gert.

My late father was a keen organist, he was well known up in Morayshire, Scotland! As a child I used to go with him and sit beside him and was amazed at all the stops and sounds available on the console! As a pianist myself he used to let me have a go but I always found the delay between pressing the keys and hearing the sound challenging! He always said you have to play ahead of the sound ! I always liked the dynamic range of the pipe organ, quiet passages to a powerful sound with massive bass you felt as well as you hear! Gert and Marjoline make a superb team and know how to tame these monsters and make beautiful and exciting music!

Beautifully done! Tempo, registration, the slight pauses all hallmarks of an up and comming Master. Gert understands these two pieces and really digs in and enjoys himself! Agree with Andrew, Catholic churches, once leaders in Sacred music, are now subjected to "Praise Bands" banging on drums and wailing guitars! Its horrendous, it was supposed to attract young people but was a huge mistake. Bring back the real music that moves the soul and adds to the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass.

If you walk through a church or cathedral when the organ is playing you will sense pleasant sound modulation, this is called the Doppler effect where you will hear amplitude, frequency, and phase modulation all together! An extreme example is when you are stationary and an ambulance with a siren on goes past you - you hear the pitch get lower as it approaches and rise again as it moves away! The Hammond electrical organs got rotary speakers connected to them that gives this moving sound effect! Pop groups in the 70’s used lots of this sounds( examples are Procal Harem with ‘A whiter shade of pale’ , and bands like Focus etc’ . Many churches in America got Hammond Organs fitted as a cheaper option to installing pipe organs and still do! I am still a Hammond fan in all types of music but still get a kick out of walking into a cathedral and walk up to the ranks of pipes and hear/feel that sound experience! Gert/Marjoline come to Scotland, there are plenty of organs in Glasgow/Edinburgh/Aberdeen etc!
