Small piece of architectural advice to break up the patterning. Typically, in masonry, every 5-7 layers a "Kings Row" is placed for structural integrity. So, if you find your brick-work unappealing or in need of something to break up the aesthetic, perhaps that knowledge can be of use. I'm only 3 years late to the party.

The two patterns you were talking about are stack and running bond. Stack is where the bricks/blocks are directly on top of each other. You can build that way. People do all the time. Running bond is definitely better, though.

one suggestion i have is to adjust the hues on your palette more. they're not entirely linear obviously but i think you could push it more. when the hues are too close on gradients, it gives it a sort of play-doh feel imo. another thing would be to try and mix your ramps. for example there are lots of colors in your palette that are similar too the eye especially the darker ones. if you combine them you can get a more cohesive feel. just something to experiment with, because taking it too far can give a muddy look.

@@ledumpsterfire6474 well depends on your skills in this Things. I have No Ide how to choose good variations for the Shadows. I Just now that Just going darker does Not look good
@ledumpsterfire6474 Жыл бұрын
@@xentox5016 I guess that'll depend on your lighting in general. There are definitely a lot of cases where just dropping the brightness down a few points is perfectly valid for a shadow. Especially if you're doing a somewhat desaturated design. If you have a warmer toned lighting, you'll want your pallette to move towards warmer tones for the shadows, and vice versa for cooler toned lighting. But in that case you can just shift your hue and brightness down a couple points at a time. In this case, it definitely looks like the colors are just darkened a bit and maybe some contrast taken out.
