Really liking this Skyline series. Always loved the platform. By the way, "lended" is not a word. Neither is "grinded". The past tense of lend is lent. Past tense of grind is ground.

jules leenders 20dets are a lot more reliable than 25dets, but they're not something can do big numbers without fucking out real quick. 20dets are good for 350-400 hp max. You see it all of the time here in NZ. The best RB to go for if you want everything, Big Power, Response, Reliability etc... Is the 30det with a 25det head. When it comes to the RB game, none of them come close to 30dets. The torque, response, and power difference a properly built 30det has in comparison to a 20, 25, 26, 27, and 28det is MASSIVE.

Adam I don't think you should connect the head drain to the turbo oil return line. The head drain is there to equalize the pressure between the head and crankcase and doesn't actually "drain" much oil. If you connect it to the oil return it can't equalize the pressure properly.

So the reason why that happened was because the bolt was not long enough and do not catch enough threads so torque was greater than what the threads could hold and pulled it through the head. Happened to me too and I realized I use the wrong thing Bolt.

its great that you re building a reliable drift car, as far as engine goes, you cant ever call a drift car reliable with all the driveline issues they have. the more you put in now, the less you re gonna worry ahead.
@Oceansidereefing6 жыл бұрын
The version one of that chase bays power steering reservoir sucked I had it and it was just a empty can and fluid would come in at 100psi without slowing down and foam the crap out of the PS fluid and then your pump would make noise and steering would get tight, luckily they made a V2 and were swapping out the V1 for V2 for a small fee

Don't use cutting or grinding discs on aluminium - the disc's can explode and send high speed shrapnel everywhere... very dangerous Adam. Should always use double eye protection when grinding... safety googles/glasses and a full face visor.
@brandondeel35676 жыл бұрын
James Templeman he's using a flap disc to sand that piece of aluminum. You can see that the disc he used to cut was black and the one he had in the vice was green so he changed it. Good advice though, angle grinders can be very dangerous.
@brandondeel35676 жыл бұрын
Oops, for some reason I thought you said something about sanding the aluminum with a grinding disc. My bad.
@banannaninja6 жыл бұрын
How exactly does aluminium effect grinding and cutting disks differently than steel? Grinding disks can just as easily explode when used with steel. He should definetly use eye protection and wear a respirator because aluminium dust is invisible and very harmful but aside from that he's fine using the tools he's most comfortable with. They make specific grinding and cutting disks for aluminium but using ones made for steel are just as safe and effective. If you're not competent or comfortable enough to use a grinder then dont use it, but you gotta remember not everyone is just like you.
@brandondeel35676 жыл бұрын
Dmitriy Barsukov from what I understand, aluminum has a significantly lower melting point than steel and can cause binding which is really bad when using an angle grinder. With the metal being at it's flash point, it could also cause the grinding disc to get too hot and potentially explode. Stone discs are best for aluminum for grinding/cutting but in my experience, a saw like a ban saw or a aluminum blade on a jig saw with cutting fluid is the best way to cut aluminum. Cutting fluid keeps the dust down and the saw blade isn't moving at rediculous speeds reducing friction and heat.

Not for nothing, and I'm sure your setup as you have it will work, but I would never T the turbo/head oil drain lines man. You'll probably get away with it but I'd try to give them both uninpeded paths to drain, if you absolutely must, run a Y (not a T) and ditch the 90 fitting on the turbo oil drain. I'm unfamiliar with RB25s but the 26s have spots for multiple oil drains (for the two turbskis), if your 25 block doesn't, plumb the head drain either straight into the extended sump, or find another way man! EDIT> Oh, and take a moment to port the "hump" out of each exhaust port on the head!
