Yes. It's incredibly easy to be manipulated as teens, because we don't fully comprehend we aren't as smart and invincible as we feel. I was groomed as a teen to perform lewd acts on video-chat for an adult "artist". At the time I felt I was in control, and it wasn't until years later I realised I was manipulated to gratify an adult who had malicious intent. I am 25 now and I could never do what was done to me, it's evil. We need young people telling other young people what isn't normal.

Wooow. Also, trauma dumping is one thing but I usually hear people say this shit when they just refuse to be emotionally present for their friends having a regular hard time or talking about concerns. Abusers learning therapy language is always so annoying. Sometimes hearing your friend out is just BEING A FRIEND, and you can say "I'm not in the right headspace for this rn can we catch up later" but still. Even if I'm in a bad shape sometimes, I show up for my friends even if they ARE trauma dumping because sometimes you get triggered or a tragedy happens and stuff just needs to come out. I can be burnt out a little for a friend every now and then. Not every part of a healthy friendship is easy and comfortable. So right, and they want to be able to fade away with the impression of having taken accountability. The difference is Jenna genuinely went back into her own past and acknowledged all of her mistakes, and her penance for her mistakes was leaving the internet. These people (Shane and Kodee are the two that come to mind the most) who try to copy her departure give such a half baked version of an apology, laced with excuses, dodging taking responsibility for their actions, and more often than not completely ignore the BIGGEST and most EGREGIOUS THINGS they’ve done. They don’t take accountability, they don’t even know what they’re apologizing for. No one should have to tell anyone what they should be apologizing for. If someone doesn’t know what they should be apologizing for, they’re not sorry. The two most important parts of an apology are genuinely apologizing, having considered how they affected others, and then HEARING FROM THE PEOPLE THEY AFFECTED AND ABSORBING THEIR FEEDBACK. This whole video is pure orchestrating and manipulating.

From a disabled perspective: the phrase "Special Needs" can die an ugly death, just in general. Throw it out, and then throw the trash into the sun. AND ALSO, being D/deaf does not = having an intellectual disability, and the way people assume that a person not being able to communicate perfectly with YOU = that person not being able to think is awful, ableist and widespread.

I’m autistic and I agree, ableism isn’t attractive
@TheOtivid Жыл бұрын
100% this. I’m autistic, and when Kodee said at one point they think Trent’s autistic, I was like??? And??? Even IF he was, autistic people can (and should) be held accountable, and can learn, the same as anyone else, but so many people use “oh it’s their autism” to excuse the action of white and male autistics. Women, especially WOC, never get that “grace”. Not to mention how Trent’s DMs literally show him saying not to tell other people… because he KNEW it was wrong.

I gave up verbal speech for lent one year just as a personal exercise, and it was so weird how people immediately start acting like you're an idiot when you can't verbally express yourself.
@meaganblack1529 Жыл бұрын
@@jazwhoaskedforthis Absolutely! Even when the person is able to express themselves perfectly in *written* English, people can't be bothered and would rather assume they have nothing to say that's worth understanding. And of course, people who speak other languages but do not speak English get shit on by English speakers all the time-but when you don't speak, because of voluntary or involuntary mutism or because the language you use is signed, there is an extra special ableism flare to how hard people won't even try.
@ihavenodesiretocreateahandle Жыл бұрын
@cutthroatalex7291 but they aren't "special needs people," they are disabled people with needs that are tied to their experience with their disability. Their needs aren't "special;" needs are a thing everyone has and are not special no matter how you look at it. Their needs are just different. Refering to someone's needs as "special" because the needs in question regard their disability just isolates that person even further. Not to mention that "special needs person" or "person with special needs" yet again only highlights issues 'normative' people have with disabled people and their possibly different requirements for functioning comfortably.

Also as a bipolar person, it was gross to hear her use mania as an excuse for her disgusting actions that she clearly still has no issue with. Editing to add: mania can absolutely be an explanation for the way you’re acting, but part of coming to terms with your illness is owning and apologizing for things you do in that frame of mind. I was a horrible, toxic person when I was unmedicated and not in therapy. I denounce everything hurtful I did. But part of my burden to bear is knowing what I did to people, and knowing that while I do my best to make amends they may never forgive me. I’m not gonna use mania as an excuse to make them feel bad for me, if I hurt them I hurt them and I need to focus on remedying that and growing from the situation so it doesn’t happen again. Put on your big girl pants Kodee, you’re 30.

Do you want me to destroy all my stuff? What do you want me to do? I'll do it ill cut myself right now! You probably think im a monster so I deserve it" etc. etc. So i ended up consoling them and saying how I forgive them and I don't hate them and I won't leave. I'm still processing it now and this type of behavior and treatment of others is actually sickening
