I just watched your video about not forgiving Kodee, and I wanted to say: the fact that it didn't even cross your MIND initially to see their actions as manipulative or calculated or anything tells me a lot about you as a person. You took them at their word and assumed the best of their intentions, and only later realized that something was off. Because that's not how you see the world. You don't manipulate people or situations, you don't think or act like these people. If you're a very honest and upfront person with good intentions it's very hard to get into the mind of someone who isn't, and understand what they're up to. If you're always inclined to tell the truth or help people it is hard for us to understand the inclination to lie or abuse someone. As a victim of abuse this is something that's always gotten to me- I don't understand why the people who abused me did what they did, how they could even think such things or say such things, and why. I don't think I'll ever understand. Let that be some consolation, though. You're not like them and you never will be. You're going to keep growing and evolving, you'll become a more cautious judge of character, you'll be wiser- and you will never be awful like them. They don't deserve your forgiveness and you don't need to give it to them to heal, either. You need to forgive yourself, though. You only ever did what you did out of a desire to be friends, to be good to someone you looked up to, to belong, and then to tell the truth and stand up for yourself. Kids get to make these mistakes or trust in things they shouldn't, they're learning. It's all the adults at the time who have no excuse and no right to expect forgiveness.

I kind of like Observe's take on the whole "context" thing about the situation, because its not like he's supporting her lies about the situation. He's saying that even if she was telling the truth about the situation, it would still be terrible and wrong. He's not arguing or defending her context, he's saying that even though we always say context matters (because it does), in this situation the context that counts isn't that the child asked or that she usually sends weird things. It's that she was a grown ass adult and you were a child. He was saying that's the only context that should matter because whether or not you had asked (which we know is patently false), she as the fully grown ass woman should have still been like... "Hmmm, maybe it will be a terrible idea to send lingerie to a minor... to a CHILD!" And that she can't minimize the horribleness of it by conflating it with sending TP or other non-intimate items. She should have still known better. And I'm sure she does, she just doesn't care. You've shown such grace during all this Adam, I hope you reach peace with this and that she gets her just punishment.

Oh Yeah. I don’t think she’s lying at all. I think her perception of reality is off. Where is becomes truly worrying is that she seems to be rejecting any attempt anyone is making to explain to her how she is actually hurting people with her behavior. It would be one thing if she did something wrong and then listened to people explain why and how she was wrong, and then corrected herself. Sure she would still have hurt someone, but this denial of anything being wrong is just gross. Surely someone telling you that what you did hurt them should be enough to make you examine your behavior. The fact that she isn’t just says so much.

From Shane Dawson, Jeffree Star, Colleen, etc to say he's not a drama channel feels untrue to say. People also claim he's so unbiased but he uses such emotional language, especially in his most recent vid about Colleen where he gets visibly frustrated literally 5 minutes in. He also knows the entire backstory to this situation, so it's impossible to say he isn't biased when it comes to his analysis. Adam, even if you *had* asked for lingerie as a joke or whatever, it really doesn't change the fact that a grown up sent a child underwear. Even if I was 21, 22... I still would not feel right about sending inappropriate things to a kid. I don't care how mature the kid seems or how 'young' the adult acts, it would naturally feel wrong. That said, Colleen sneakily making it seem like you were repeatedly begging for them only makes her look even more creepy.

So, first off, I would like to say I'm not here for some of the chat being disrespectful to Observe because while he does a little research he states numerous times he doesn't delve too deep in order to get an unbiased view of someone's behavior in a specific video that he's reviewing. Especially when he clearly is on Adam's side and as I have watched many, many of his videos, he does NOT take lightly to situations like this. He also does not lose his cool, and if you're expecting someone to scream at Colleen like Xylie did to Kodie, you're watching the wrong person. Commenting that he looks like Andrew Tate is bordering on bully behavior imo because Observe is the polar opposite of that pile of garbage and would probably be offended. Saying it's inexcusable he doesn't peruse the entire internet for every detail means you don't understand the point of his channel. So maybe settle down, Chat. And Colleen supporters, you're all delusional af because even if Adam was never involved I don't know how you can think her behavior is ok. Like please get therapy. Anyway, Adam, I love your cats.

Everything about her video is troublesome but there’s one aspect in this as well as her previous responses that really push my buttons. It’s when she gets so defensive & offended that anyone would dare “bring her child into this.” 🤦🏻♀️ It’s as though she has no concept of the fact that Adam was a child and that making this comparison is to evoke that maternal response so it BREAKS THROUGH TO HER CONSCIENCE. So that she may relate to the situation in a different way and comprehend the consequences to a minor’s well being! But instead of it being useful, she considers it an out of bounds approach. Again, it’s like she cannot admit that Adam was a MINOR CHILD.

my main critisism with body language analysis - including observe (I watch him mainly and like him, taking his analysis with a grain of salt) is that these analysis really don't take into account neurodivergent body language (autism, ADHD being the ones that come into the forefront of my mind). There are things they say are signs of someone not being genuine but for me those are just me being autisitc. I'm always either fidgeting, self-soothing, or stimming. I NEVER like eye contact. I don't mirror someones body language. I cant sit right. Its not me lying or whatever its just me existing.
@BsTheLadynred Жыл бұрын
Umm but body language analysis also find those patterns in the person and then understand that's not them lying etc. but that's something natural with them. You can tell that from studying the person so not sure what you really mean? They'll even say that fidgeting could be just being anxious, so they will watch the movements along with what the person is saying. I think you're under the wrong impression that they can't tell if someone may have autism or ADHD. And they absolutely would take that into consideration if that was an issue. "What is the body language of someone with ADHD? These include body language, such as moving away from you, cutting conversations short, or crossing their arms or legs. Also note facial expressions, such as red faces, scowls, tight lips, or hurt or angry eyes
@nora__ Жыл бұрын
They do take neurodivergence into consideration. They base their analysis on the individual in a particular situation, not in comparison to the “typical” person. So if you regularly have a tic, a stutter, fail to make eye contact, etc., then they don’t put a lot of weight into it.
@bobbiedaniel9347 Жыл бұрын
He reviews videos of someone to get a 'baseline' and makes his decisions based on variances from their norm and he always says there are no hard and fast rules to body language analysis. Seems like your comment was pointless
@jinx17 Жыл бұрын
Sometimes/most times he does get a baseline, most "body language analysts" will get a baseline on someone, and they usually do take into consideration those things. I think most people can pick up on a little bit of neurodivergence, especially people trained for this.
@amandamandamands Жыл бұрын
The things that you are talking about are the standard things that you see in articles of 10 ways to see if someone is lying, and yes those articles do target typical ASD/ADHD behaviours as someone being dishonest etc. The couple of different channels that I sometimes watch that do body language analysis all say yes but. They will usually have watched enough content of the person to get a baseline and if they haven't then they will say that too. I haven't seen any of them say that because they are doing X it definitively means Y. The channels will also say that it needs to be a cluster of tells, if it is a single tell then that doesn't' give enough information. The actual problem is that people that want to make a quick buck have gotten those lists of tells and have said that these are definitive ways that you can tell if someone is lying and either don't have the knowledge or don't care that it is a lot more nuanced than that. Bigger issue is that law enforcement has been trained along those lines.

Keep the videos coming, Adam. I just got into crochet and I’ve been binging your stuff on my week off, making sure I educate myself because a girl I knew who is now 21 was one of Colleen’s major supportive fans. She was a customer of my artwork so I followed her Instagram (she was also a theatre kid like me, super talented singer and actor, so I liked seeing her stuff). Over the years when we talked she would share how at 14 years old she was engaging with Colleen. I knew of Miranda but never much cared for the videos. This kid Abby was so talented and here I was thinking Colleen saw her talent. Man, context is different now. Also, I think it’s important that these convos are being had because our internet world can be weird. For instance, this kid Abby was 14 when she bought my artwork, as were many of my costumers. Not most, but I’ve sold to kids as young as 13 and then proceeded to follow their Instagram so I could keep seeing my artwork. We’ve had conversations, and I’ve called many of them friends even though I was 19-26 when I painted. I had a small fan base of 13k followers at the peak. Anyway, long story short, I took a moment to review my memory for anything that could have been weird or inappropriate and like any decent person, came out with an all clear from my own conscience. Maybe wouldn’t have chosen to Skype with anyone underage even when it was just talking while I painted, but it was a good reflection to make sure I didn’t cross a line. I think we all need to constantly check ourselves, especially as we get older and are illuminated to additional context. It’s also similar important that we are normalizing the verbiage here. This was grooming. No question.

Micro nodding or micro shaking is used in body language reading when a person is expressing with the movements of their body ( nodding yes for example ) the EXACT OPPOSITE of what they are saying with their speech . So when the Observe guy is saying Colleen is micro shaking ( “no”) with her movement while saying YES I FELT SO BAD , that would be a huge red flag that she is lying because her body language “doesn’t align “with her speech language . The 'micro shakes', from memory, (I could be wrong), are for example when a person is saying "yes, this is true" but they're slightly shaking their head li'no'. This can mean deception of some sore. Their non-verbal communication is seeping thru, giving it away.

Tbh even sending some underwear to an adult within a fandom or to whom you are (at least) not romantically linked to is weird AF and any rational person should be able to realise that in the moment if not once the excitement of the initial "joke" is gone. Adam you are so brave to stand up for yourself and I really hope you will at least get a genuine public response and apology for the shit you had to go through at such a young age. Sending you lots of love and support ♥

tbh i think that observe was saying that specifically with apology videos that it can be telling if you need noticeable cuts to perchance read notes. they may need to convince themselves they need to say the things that they need to say, and when someone isn’t genuine it’s a lot harder to remember the things that you’re supposed to say :/

Adam he doesn't like looking too deep because it may sway his bias. He likes to get the general idea and go with that.
