I was SA'ed as a child and have a dark sense of humour.. but I don't recall ever making a joke at the expense of a child being hurt being the punchline.. I've made fun of my own trauma of course but to even imply a joke about a child being hurt is just.. not funny and has never been, it's so wild to me..

Exactly that. My best friend and I were both victims of CSA, we often cope with dark humor between us and only make jokes at our own or each other's expense, just because we’re so close and that’s how we deal. We would NEVER, EVER joke about other people like that, especially not a kid, and especially not on YT where that kid may have to deal with knowing about or hearing about it from other people in the future. Absolutely disgusting and definitely speaks to him continuing the cycle rather than coping with dark humor.

I was a victim as well. However, you cannot gage everyone else's behavior based on your values, morality, etc. Some people make horrible jokes as a cope. Some people don't know boundaries and push the limits. I have adhd and I used to cross the line all the time in social settings. I learned, but that was a struggle of mine. Also, I know ppl who are on the spectrum who struggle with what's appropriate as well. I am not justifying anyone, but using your experience and what you would or wouldn't do as a way to judge guilt or innocence is absolutely inappropriate. I was a victim too. There may be things I would say, that you may not. People are different, victims are different, people cope differently

I remember when Shane's book came out. My friend brought it to school during our reading time (we were in 8th grade), I remember being jealous because I wanted the book as well. But my friend was so excited to read it, 10 minutes into our reading time my friend put the book down. She couldn't it without being disgusted, the teacher made her go to the office and exchange the book. The school banned books that were written by KZbinrs after. Looking back at it I realized I was uncomfortable about a lot of the jokes Shane was making, but I brushed it off thinking that they were just jokes. No, they were harmful and should've never been made. Especially, ones about children.

I was a victim of child on child sexual abuse, and it really ruined my life for a long time. As an adult I understand that the girl who abused me was definitely abused herself, but it took me a long time to get to that place. For years I hated her for doing that to me and I hated myself for not stopping her. Now I just hope that she got help and didn’t continue that behavior as she grew up. All this to say that a child can’t truly be blamed for sexually abusing another child, but what Shane did could have had profoundly negative effects on those kids, and it’s not something to joke about.

They simply pointed out that in some of their most vulnerable, impressionable years her content hurt them and influenced them negatively which is not a unique thing in literal children. Also…for some people yes it is very hard to look their gender by a societal stand point. Not everyone can afford surgery and hormones, makeup and clothing can only change you so much, and some people simply don’t care to fit gendered standards of appearance, trans or not. Hearing people shit on you and cast doubt on your identity because you don’t look “right” to their standards is painful and it shows them to be shitty people. You can say they have the right to their opinion, and that people are gonna talk no matter what, still makes them hateful, shitty people.

You must question a person who self diagnoses themselves no matter what. Since many didn't go to therapy (not affirming kind because affirming isn't therapy as the word itself suggests) and don't get diagnosed by a therapist regarding gender dysphoria and for how long this lasts. Many teens go through gender dysphoria at some point due to their bodies changes and the stress it causes. The majority of teens overtime lose this gender dysphoria and continue with puberty. People who continue with gender dysphoria well into their adulthood are those who may eventually think of the process of transitioning first by wearing the opposite sex clothing etc and if that isn't enough medicalization can be a more permanent option. Of course in all of this process going to a therapist (not affirming kind) is vital because there can also be other under diagnosed mental issues. I recommend watching Buck angel podcast.

I followed Blair a really long time ago in the beginning of her phase where she was discussing about trans identity, doing debates, and taking down predators like Yessica Janiv. I respected her until she repeatedly harassed and bullied Riley Dennis as well as a few other trans/NB people. It seemed like a double standard. Though she did eventually apologize for her treatment against Riley, she still continues to bully and harass a lot of NB/trans creators and sometimes stays on a point for far too long. I used to at least watch Blair’s debates because they were insightful to watch and had a lot of polarizing guests like Laci Green and many others. It was a way for me to understand all sides of politics. My biggest turn off was when Blair at some point got into a huge controversy with Shoe and the skeptic community. I don’t remember exactly what went down but basically it was a lot of high school drama bs it involved people like Jacqueline and after that I stopped watching her content.

Then it turns out the bodybuilder she was harassing for competing in women's sports *never* competed in women's sports, and had begged her to stop the harassment multiple times. It really opened my eyes to how narrow-minded I was being about everything and just how villainous those creators could be for clicks and views. Something I wanted to share that I wrote regarding the cycle of abuse for my psych degree: Victims who perpetuate abuse are abusers. Learning that an abuser was abused themselves informs and contextualizes their behavior, but cannot under any circumstance excuse it. A victim repeating abusive behavior, especially when that abuse was carried out in a vacuum where said abuse was normalized or in secret, is not inherently abusive. Repeating behavior is how we all learn how to be human. A victim actively pulls on the cloak of the abuser when they are made aware of the definition and gravity of what has happened to them and what they are now doing, yet make the choice to stay the same. Staying the same is not making mistakes during the process of their conscious unlearning and accepting repercussions for those mistakes and persisting their efforts of betterment. It is continuing the behavior from before they were made aware ie embodying ignorance, martyring themselves to try and maintain their victim status, or even aggressing outside of and beyond their own experiences. The two people who raised me were abused throughout their childhoods in ways I have never experienced. They were formally victims. When child protective services arrested one of my caregivers when my home life was brought to light by concerned children and adults, their need to maintain victim status and choose self preservation over self reflection and my wellbeing made them, officially, my abusers. They would continue to refuse help for themselves, refuse to acknowledge their impacts, and ramp up my own abuse as well as my sibling’s until that sibling ultimately had to live out the rest of their days as a minor in foster care. These people were no longer the children and young adults who were victimized by their own unique sets of circumstances. They were adults, given a choice, and choosing abuse. In making that choice, any person, in this professional’s opinion, forfeits empathy for their history and must work even harder to shed the cloak of the abuser. It is not impossible and is a noble effort when committed to, make no mistake. New life is always available to the living. But those who dig their own graves cannot be surprised when there are no familiar or eager hands reaching out to them six feet under.

I respectfully disagree with this sentiment. You’re allowed to break free of hive mind. You don’t have to agree with someone just because they have the same sexual orientation as you. I just watched some of Blair's content yesterday bc your video made me interested on what she's up to today and I realized my main problem with her is that she presents a lot of valid points but puts them through her "Anti-SJW" lens and become problematic. A perfect example of it is her video on the fat positivity movement where she does say valid points but puts them into some "woke liberals are ruining America" narrative (for example, how she almost relates over-consumption of food with consumerism and capitalism, but then talks about government control and the vaccine).

recently out as a non-binary person and between watching her and Kalvin Garrah and i fell victim to their trans med bs. it took watching the creators videos talking about how much hate they received from her, and also Kalvin, to realize how transphobic and close minded i had become listening to them listening to their opinions on “how to be a trans person”. and it really stunted me from realizing that i was nonbinary, the very people they hate for no reason. that i despised for no reason. it’s that close minded, conservative thinking that just, makes you so hateful.. and for what? no one is above anyone or anything. at least when it comes to things like that. i did have the respect for a bit when she was calling out predators. but i just lost all respect trying to pander to conservatives when we all know that they have zero respect towards the LGBTQ+ community. just like how they will pretend they aren’t racist or homophobic..deep down they are just praying to change things back to “how things were.” they are both conservative and i’ve seen so much of the conservative right spew so much hatred. but also so much nonsense. idk i guess i could say i respect her opinions on predators but everything else? no respect. such a sellout.

I didn't use to like Blaire, but then I did a deep dive and I changed my mind (to some extent). When she 'bullies' 'ugly people', it's often because these people are problematic and hide their problematic behavior behind being for instance trans. So, when the person doesn't put a lot of effort into looking like the gender they say they are, she finds that very fishy. I used to find this rude, but after some videos, I realized that she was often right. I watched the videos of the people she 'bullied' and found them to be quite nasty, and they shouldn't get blind support just because they say they are LGBTQ+. Don't y'all find it likely that some bad seeds pretend to be LGBTQ+ for all the wrong reasons? And I think Blaire is definitely going for a rude awakening type approach. Not everyone will like that approach, but I've at least started to understand it. I don't love it, especially being mean to people for their looks when they aren't predators. The predators tho? She can sink her claws into them any day. I'd never support a predator even if they share parts of my identity or claim to do so. I like Blaire better now, but she's definitely a mean girl and proud of it lol. Very 'hate me, love me, I don't care' and 'any attention is good attention'.

a BIGG issue is people like blair attempting to educate people on what is and isnt correct morally using clinical definitions. she is not educated in the field of psychology, she weaponizes terms for others that she withholds from shane - which she would use in a similar situation. i think she is a terrible starting point to address some really important things - such as grooming behavior and cycles of abuse. labeling victims as abusers because they have been abused due to statistics is misleading and ignorant. she can be accurate in stats, but inaccurate in usage. the reason its such a big statistic is due to manipulation, not the act of SA. most victims arent just abused once, theres a system of abuse. and if thats all they know, they can be susceptible to abusing themselves. parading the stat to essentially defend shanes behavior is downright disrespectful and honestly shameful. she shouldnt call herself a vigilante of justice if she isnt going to lay the hand on all predators, not just some. not even mentioning the fact that she is just an ignorant individual in general. her perspective on trans-ness and such gives me such a sour taste. if she cannot, with her chest, stick accountability to her "friend" for being disgusting, she shouldnt take on the responsibility of stopping predators. i dont hate her - infact, i used to watch her content! but she panders to a certain type of audience, and its kinda sad. i know she can do so much more if she attempted to properly educate herself, but sadly shes bound by her own ignorance.

i was a HUGE fan of shane in his very early years of yt as a child and when i looked back i was absolutely disgusted and had realizations of how he shaped my thinking he taught me what EDs were at 9-10 yrs old and my brother actually devloped one (he showed me shane) and opened my mind to so much sexual behavior in adults towards me and he played a part in making me think it was normal i 100% feel i was groomed indirectly. though i also acknowledge my parents lacked alot of responsibility in teaching me right from wrong and monitoring what i was watching.

Ok but wait... she pride herself in calling out predators and stands for victims and thats great and all, but she hanged out with Shane. How is it possible to not know his past if you hanged out with a person..? I don't think it's fair to give credit in this situation.. she feigning ignorance imo. Another thing, she took a while to address that he hurt Willow Smith.. thats still hurting someone as an adult. He hurt communities with his "jokes" as an adult.

also he DID sexually harrass and abuse minors, it wasn’t just jokes he would kiss underage fans, swap gum, pose with them pretending to suck dicks, tell fans he would rape them if he could, ask them to send in photos of them pulling blow job faces and with their legs spread pretending to give birth. It goes SOOOO MUCH FURTHER that simply words and ‘jokes’ but she didn’t acknowledge any of THAT, nor the sexually assaulting multiple animals ON CAMERA. And that wasn’t just ‘jokes’ either he would make out with animals, shoved his face and rubbed it against a dogs crotch, even held up a puppy to his groin and humped it.. HE IS FUCKING SICK! not to mention all the black face and minstrel shows he was KNOWN for, Blaire knew she just excused it until it was too in her face to ignore

watched blaire and kalvin before I had empathy way back in middle and high school. Only recently realized sm of my inner transphobia is from the exact people my parents thought "iNfLuEnCeD" me to be trans in the first place. Did not see nonbinary people as valid for the longest time and now my PARTNER is a gender nonconforming person. Live and let live. Being a transphobic trans person is crazy. Beside that tho I was so curious what she had to say ab shane. I would rather poke my eyes out than hear her talk ab trans people, but sure how about some clowning on shane dawson lmao who else? Allies save lives, shoutout

kalvin garrah in my mind is such a niche piece of young trans people lore from such a long time ago, hearing his name was like a jumpscare LMAOOO if adam happens to see this and is confused about it, "transmedicalism" is basically the belief that trans people _have_ to have a certain type or a certain amount of dysphoria, and need to have the desire to medically transition. im transmasculine, but i like my feminine appearance and dont have any present desire to transition medically, even if i had the money to, for example it's a really harmful rhetoric to spread, especially as a member of the trans community. a lot of people are deemed "trenders" if they come out as trans and detransition soon after, or even if they just have colorful hair, or don't "pass" or attempt to "pass" as the gender they identify as (especially if they use neopronouns or id with xenogenders). like i would be called a trender because i have long hair and wear skirts, even though i've comfortably been feminine as a transmasculine person for 3 years LOL (and i've been out as transmasc even longer, maybe 6 or 7 years.) a lot of transmedicalism revolves around and is born from the desire to be "taken seriously" by cis people, in my opinion and experience

Him telling those stories kind of reminds me of when Lena Dunham got heat for writing that book and including stories from her childhood where she molested her sister.. and she like, thought that was a normal thing people would relate to and like it was quirky or something. I mean I’m sure some people can relate but the vast majority of people were disgusted, especially because she was making light of victimizing her sister and telling her sisters traumatic story like it was some joke.. does anyone remember what I’m talking about?

i feel like Blair really internalized all the shame & backlash she's received in her life for being trans, and instead of blaming the people who made her feel that way - she sides with them, cause it's the easier option. she then pushes that judgement onto other trans people, especially us enbys, instead of pushing back against those unrealistic expectations that non-trans people have for the trans community. like telling trans men/women that they have to portray themselves as either very masc or very fem, or else they aren't 'valid'. she has a nuanced take for a lot of situations, but she very much so sees gender in black & white, hence why the conservatives love her takes so much. they uplift her, and women like Caitlyn Jenner, as the 'ideal' trans-woman - and she said "yes, thank you very much i will take on that title" instead of having compassion & consideration for the rest of her community. acting selfishly because these people who used to bully & devalue her are now giving her a crumb of acceptance, instead of realizing that she doesn't need to value their opinions at all.

@@fakename658 So in previous videos, it was a “half and half” layout, where the content he was reacting to was to the left of the screen and Adam was on the right. It made for a more comfortable viewing I think. This layout isn’t bad by any means, but the content he’s reacting to is smaller, it’s now a 1/4 content to 3/4 Adam ratio. It’s just my personal preference, I tend to like the half and half more :)

I think there's a misconception that blaire panders to a certain audience because of preconceived notions of what a trans person should think or if I even have to go there and use a bussword, transphobia. bc ya'll cannot possibly fathom that she might just hold opinions which are more conservative or moderate on certain issues. She doesn't pander she says what she wants regardless of backlash or the general consensus around a certain topic and I highly respect that and she's gathered a loyal fanbase bc of that, that's not to say that I agree with everything she says, but I respect her despite my disagreements.

That’s not at all what it is, and you saying so is an admission of your own stupidity. Blaire promotes far right conspiracy theories about the supposed dangers of hormones and harmful lies like trans bathroom panic and drag panic. There is not ONE SINGLE documented legal case to back up her fear mongering, and her claims about hormones have been unequivocally disproven by a myriad of medical studies that are published in the National Library of Public Medicine. Either you’re an incredible moron or you are a disingenuous far right extremist, but there’s no way a rational, educated human being could come to such an asinine conclusion.

I see the “hurt people, hurt people” thing not as people who have been will hurt will ultimately turn around and hurt others. More that people already hurting others almost always have a history of being hurt as a trigger/catalyst. Kinda like genetics loads the gun and the environment fires it. There is another factor between those who actively try and break the cycle and those who continue and that’s the bigger factor than the hurt/abuse in this equation in the cycle. So it still use the “hurt people hurt people” phrase but knowing I don’t mean hurt people will hurt people but people who are hurting are continuing a tradition of hurt.
