One of my female friends is constantly mis-gendered. She's tall (6ft) and has broad shoulders, and she wears jeans and hoodies. She has long hair, and she gives off a feminine vibe, but at first glance people are just conditioned to assume that someone of that height and build must be a guy. It bothered her when she was younger and less secure about herself and her looks but as she got older and more secure she just stopped caring about it, and in many ways, overcoming it has given her much more self-confidence.

I have been to several around the country in support of friends who are contractually required to be there. I took her to one couple hours away. put these rainbow ribbons in her hair as she asked cuz she LOVES rainbows. She got there and cried in such disgust. Even said, "this isnt pride, this is porn." Especially the parents holdimg their kids hands at the adult toy area. She removed the ribbons from her hair cuz she saw why i dont wear rainbow stuff and understood why she got various looks.. the perversion that many turned it into she didnt want to be be associated with that. That was a,silent 2 hour drive home.

Same. I’ve disengaged with the “community” because it’s rotten and a haven for predators.

Just because you're in the lgbtq+ community does NOT mean that you have done anything for the community. Also just because you're apart of the community doesn't mean you CAN'T be homophobic or transphobic. I've experienced more biphobia from people in the lgbtq+ community than outside of the community. Explain that TikTok.

The body positivity movement started out, as a lot of things do, with an important intent. It was initially directed at young girls who were feeling the need to be super skinny from images in ads, magazines, influencers using photoshop and apps to look thinner. Then somewhere along the way it was hijacked by the fat forward movement. When I was younger I displayed behaviors of both anorexia and bulimia. At one point in high school my weight was 86 pounds. So now I don’t diet because I don’t want to trigger old behavior. However what I do is change my eating and activity habits. Recently I started posting my progress on Facebook to keep me accountable and moving forwards. I am about 20 to 25 pounds overweight. I posted a bikini pic because I hide my weight in baggie or loose clothes. Baby doll dresses are my friend. Anyhow, everyone is like “You look great!” when I am clearly overweight. If I keep gaining it will impact my health. Only one friend reached out to say they would support me by cheering me on. My point is that it’s so easy for people to believe obesity is healthy because no one seems to want to speak up anymore. People just say “ You look great “ even when you’re overweight or a train wreck or wearing a ridiculous outfit. I’m old school. We held each other accountable and we were honest. If you looked a mess then we would say hey that’s not very flattering. If someone needed to lose weight for their health then we would be there for them. The food we eat now isn’t good. It’s processed crap. Even the availability of healthy food has changed. I have to drive an hour to get to a decent affordable grocery store. It’s sad. Kids are being raised on sugar and processed foods.

But being 20lbs overweight is not like being morbidly obese. I really believe you looked pretty in the photo and people were not celebrating fatness, they were just being nice

Hold up... 'we're here we're queer, we're coming for your children"? What exactly does that even mean? Like, I'm trying to honestly think about it and what it could possibly mean that isn't all kinds of fucked up and I got nothing. Somebody help me out.

They say putting them into their own league is saying that they don't actually belong in the sports they're trying to play and that people don't see them truly as the sex they identify as. They must compete with women or they're "being excluded."
