Nicotine is so damn hard to quit, especially being sober from everything because it's my last vice. It's also acceptable in AA and recovery circles. However, the way I look at it is what's the point of being sober and then slowly killing myself and being addicted to nicotine. I don't want to feel like a slave to nicotine any longer. It's a beast of addiction. I've quit so many times, once for 6 months, but somehow manage to go back. This time around, I'm 17 days in and am having bad cravings. I'm not going to crack.

Osmar Castillo going well! I made it a month and a half and ended up smoking some cigars on vacation, but am now 3 days off nicotine again. However, smoking cigars doesn’t cause the same kind of cravings that come from pouches or vaping, which is weird. I haven’t really been craving any nicotine at all. I think if I say I’ll smoke a cigar occasionally, that’s not bad. I’d rather smoke a cigar once or twice a month if that, then chain vape all day long.

Been an vape and weed smoker for roughly 6 years starting at age 17-18. About to turn 24 and decided ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. I recently quit smoking weed about 2-3 weeks and realized that only the first day was the hardest even though my mind was telling me that awful craving would last longer. I still have a small craving for weed but very manageable!!! I plan to officially make today the first day to choose to stop smoking my vape and hope others can gain something from my message. Thank you for helping me strengthen my decision to end a BAD HABIT! The Lord will provide courage and strength when we genuinely seek for it! Excited to embark a new journey for myself and hope to make my future self proud! 🎉

Everyone embarking on this journey, you will be tested and stay strong. I found it ironic that when I decide to quit nicotine my buddies invite me to a hookah bar, or when I am a few days clean and all of a sudden I find a disposable vape in my backpack(when it literally wasn't there before!) or when I'm out in public and I see a guy blowing a cloud on the sidewalk. Maybe you just notice it more when you crave it more... But I also think its a higher power at work, testing you, maybe wanting you to fail, almost expecting it. Stay strong, What gets me through the first few days is the statement "Literally JUST DON'T DO IT", you just don't it. Boom addiction gone. But what helps me keep that strength up over time, remembering the amazing benefits of quitting. Remembering the lowered cancer risk, healthy lungs, healthier heart, more discipline, etc. Oh and also realize how Disgusting it is.... All those chemicals, nothing cool about it. Realize how dumb, disgusting and unhealthy not to mention expensive it is You need to learn to HATE vaping. Thats the only for sure way you won't relapse. If you still have mixed feeling towards your old friend you're going to fail and do it again. If you still think vaping taste good or you enjoyed that old buzz it gave you will fail Hate it Thats what helped me quit and I hope it helps you :) need help, comment below

Bro I think you’re ok to something. I just had another lapse and it feels so dumb…. It takes up so much of my mental energy beating myself up for it. I remember getting through the first few days and just telling myself ‘NO, it’s not happening’ every time I had an urge, that worked for me…. But now I find myself vaping again…. I know all the reasons why I shouldn’t but I manage to find an excuse every time…. Any thoughts?

To quit nicotine, I just smoked silly amounts of Weed (without tobacco). In three weeks I smoked in the region of about 250g of high-potency weed in pure form. I never suffered a single nicotine craving. And then stopping weed was easy. 25 years of trying to quit with tobbacco no luck. And then this method took absolutely no effort. And now I don't have any vices at all. It not cheap method, but it was very effective for me.

Really happy I stumbled upon your videos. I cant remember which one it is but Ive been binge watching your material. Something you said really resonated with me, which helped kick start my cold turkey journey from THC and nic. "Have you ever told yourself you were going to quit today, but end up putting it off to tomorrow, then next week? Well thats a sign of addiction, you become less of a man of your word". It got me upset at the moment so i took my last hits and threw the devices in the cabinet. Day 5 and these cravings are intense but im so happy im able to say no. I forsure want to quit nicotine for good, but I would like to be able to use THC in a recreational manner that wont spiral me into my previous self now that I have the information on what happens when THC is abused. I dont have cravings for thc thankfully, i hate the cravings for nicotine, because you can literally hear your inner though negotiate with the addiction.

I struggled with nicotine addiction for years. I was more of a casual smoker, but I did enjoy it. I would often smoke Captain Black cigars instead of cigarettes too. Then I would get addicted to chewing nicorettes or nicotine lozenges. This went on for years and years and years. I was always trying to quit with no lasting success. I would be nicotine free for a couple of weeks and then I would find a pack of nicorettes I forgot abut in my jacket and would convince myself that just chewing a couple won't hurt. It was a never ending cycle. I actually quit just by accident, if that can happen. A few years back I decided to take a break from drinking alcohol. Once I stopped drinking any alcohol the desire for nicotine drastically decreased. I know that won't work for every person, but it did for me. When I decided to start drinking again I had no desire to pick up any nicotine product. About a year ago I quit drinking alcohol altogether and recently decided to give up all THC products too....Life is interesting!

Today marks the 6th day since I quit smoking. I've attempted to quit multiple times, but this time it surprisingly felt easier. The initial two days were challenging, but by the third day, it became more manageable. It's worth noting that I smoked for nearly 25 years, concurrently with my coffee habit. Understanding that the withdrawal phase is temporary and not everlasting is crucial. Reminding myself that this period will pass and avoiding situations that could trigger the urge to smoke, especially during the first two weeks to a month, has been helpful.

On one of my quiting attempts I did face the cold shower for the last 10 seconds and this did help me to wake up in the morning because of the andrenaline release. Soon I will quit again and I will be facing the cold shower again. Good information, I'm done being the lab rat! If the crafings hit I tend to go outside doing short walks to be in another mental state. The steps to go outside take long enough for the crafing to fade.

Honestly thank god I didn’t decide to pick up a vape until I was 18. It’s been a year now and I feel like I want to quit desperately. I have to get healthy for a major spine surgery and the dr has told me to quit smoking all together and it’s been a challenge

So is it best to quit in the morning? I assume after sleeping your nicotine levels would be very low.

20 years on nicotine (10 smoke, 10 vape) now I’m on day 51 without nicotine and I’ve gotta say, it’s barely getting easier. I get the craving less frequently but when I do I want it just about as bad as I did on day one. When I get frustrated at all my cravings come right back, and when I catch myself with extra downtime my cravings skyrocket. I’ll feel my mood start to pick up as I’m about to take a break at work or sit in traffic headed home, but then I remember that I don’t smoke/vape anymore and every time it still feels devastating and frustrating. A few times per day I go through various stages of grief and loss for my old routines. I’m having a pretty hard time staying quit but I know that I don’t want to go through it all again, I keep telling myself that maybe on day 60 (or 80, or 365) I’ll feel like I’ve never smoked before. I haven’t had alcohol in almost a year and that was a piece of cake, I can confidently say that I wouldn’t mind going the rest of my life without alcohol, but nicotine seems to have a stronger grasp on me than anyone else I know who has quit it. I’ve even stopped doing certain activities I used to do while vaping (editing videos, playing video games) because I know the cravings will make those activities feel like torture. Anyone here have similar experiences? I’m about ready to call a therapist or something to talk me through this 😐

I didn't reach day 60 but i went as far as 40 days -+2 The first week was hard After that the craving started going away But after a while it would come, and it would stay for days , it came at the beginning of 3rd week and stayed for some days ( i don't remember exactly how many days), afterwards it came in the beginning of the 6th week I smoked. But now, I'm trying to quit again, smoking is not good for health , it's not good daily routine, it's just not beneficial And every smoker knows that And i really think that it'll get better

Have been smoking for 8 years. 100hrs into this and I cant explain how bad and weird I am feeling right now. Cravings are at peak, cant sleep for more than 3 hrs at a time and there is a constant headache since I quit. Meditation is helping me a lot right now, I have been writing positive statements in my notepad and have cut off from all other smokers. If you ever find yourself picking up a ciggerate just take a deep breath and flush it down the toilet, all it needs a quick action. I dont know how long i am going to suffer, but I promised myself even if this kills me right now, I am going to quit. I dont want to feel like a "Lab Rat". 😣

Just tried the laser therapy acupuncture to help quit. Been on and off for a few years and never considered myself a heavy user until a few months ago. On day 3 now. The rage was so hard to deal with the first 2 days. Today I just feel odd. All my life I have depended on a substance, usually Cannabis. This is my first time being completely sober.

I'm on day 10 of being nicotine/vape free!! 😄🙌 I've been watching your videos for about a month or so Frank... been trying to quit, could never make it past 24 hours lol. Then suddenly about 10 days ago I got HORRIBLY sick with a severe cold or flu. I was sooooo out of it. Zero energy, super tired, super sick. So I used that time to officially quit. I basically slept through my withdrawals! Lol. I keep coming back to your videos because I want to know that these cravings won't last forever. I get them randomly throughout the day, and you're right they don't really last that long. I'm just superrrrr looking forward to the day where I don't get them at all! Thanks for all your videos, they really helped me!

Didn't work. I've been up and down trying to quit for 2 years, constantly obsessing and then when I go back using so much nicotine I almost pass out. It's a serious problem. But it's all over. These videos from Dr frank I keep listening to. It's working to picture those nicotine receptors dying off. Another day! Victory is mine

As soon as I got home after graduation, I threw away my capes and got rid of the weed. Currently on day 3 of no weed and day 1 of no nicotine. I’ve been in his book every night before bed because it really helps me remember why I’m a non-smoker now. However over the last few days I have felt like I am back to square one again. Constantly on my mind and Im having to go back and watch videos again to remind myself on how to cope with cravings etc. Why o Why does this happen?? Nothing has changed for me. I am no more stressed than I was last week. I cant put a finger on why this could happen and its freaking me out. Has anyone gone through the same thing or has an answer?

I have been smoking since 10 years. One day i feel i had enough, everything was going bad in my life, so i have inner thought that i can start making my life positive from today by not smoking. It's my mind craving and i am supplying it. So i took last cigarette and burn rest of them and convinced myself no matter what i am quitting , the pain is temporary, benefits are permanent. For the first 3 days it was really hard craving, i felt so weak, mind was really foggy but i decided to punish my mind and drinks a-lot of water. After one week i started to feel clear and happy, i dont feel much withdrawal symptom. I am really proud of myself for beginning of healthy lifestyle. My suggestion for everyone quitting please trust yourself you can do it, it is really darkside of life where you need constant pleasure, it's never ending mind game, you will be really proud of yourself just bear it for 1 week and later on it will be much easier.

I was smoking for 8 years then switched to vaping which developed me nicotine allergy in few years, now I can't inhale it anymore, gum was good way to stop cravings but again due to allergy(skin irritation) I can't use it, patch is better, but the best is to never start consuming nicotine at all, because you ll never know when you've drifted too far from shore and developed addiction ending up in craving-smoking cycle. Thanks for your advices, 3 month mark is useful, my cravings after years of vaping are wild, but patches/gum are really helpful to pass the first week, after that it's way easier.

By the way, he is absolutely right. I have quit smoking like 3 time I have done. It was literally just for the hell of it. First time was for 3 months. The other times were like 2 weeks and 2 weeks. And then now I am quitting again. The first few days like 5 or 6 are usually the hardest. Because because everything he described is happening. But it's really not that bad. You just might rip somebody's head off. That's it, and then after that. It's literally just cravings which don't last long at all, like he explained. U can do it

Best advice from Allen's book is realising nicotine does absolutely nothing. NONE. NADA. NULL. If you want that dopamine or feel happy, just try 10 pushups. Trust me instant relaxation. If the thoughts get overwhelming, writing them down in a journal or even speaking them out loud is way more effective than smoking. At the end of that cigarette you've not relaxed yourself, you've merely scratched an itch which will come back. Moreover you're no more closer to solving the problem or dealing with your thoughts than you were before. Please realise that cigarettes do absolutely nothing except waste your time. Every moment spent taking a puff could've been used for a variety of activities that you enjoy(read dopamine release) or deal with your problems in a head first way instead of procrastinating. Take it from someone who had been addicted for 6 years not a single of my problems were solved by smoking. The only thing I can do is forgive myself because it was stupid to think cigarettes would relax me or take away the boring moments. Take the Easy way buddy. You're not alone.
