As an adult male I realized one thing about pot. It makes a not ok situation ok for people. I’m an Army veteran of Afghanistan and have many many friends that use daily, hourly. I would say 90% of them are ok with a shit life. All their wives run their households. They make crap money and never work out. They are just ok with getting high and getting by. Weeds makes you feel better by blocking out the work that needs to be done. If you “need” it to feel normal then this is your sign to get help. Go to therapy. Go work out and get your shit together. You shouldn’t need a plant to be normal.

Also I lost weight since im not eating a bunch of sugary snacks anymore from going munchies. Sometimes I smell weed when I go for walks or even in public, but I fight the urges and just tell myself I'm better off and these people are dumb for smoking and escaping the world for a short while, just to burn their money and health and time for that matter. The first few weeks were a bit harsh with cravings now I don't have those, mostly just miss some good indica on occassions of relaxation. I must also mention that i did buy the NAC supplement, it did provide almost immediate relief from the crawings, maybe some 10 minutes after eating a capsule. N-Acyl-L-Cystein. I've remained eating one in the morning and in the evening with my other supplements - vitamins. Avoid terms such as “paranoid schizophrenia” when such subtypes are no longer used and it ends up being misleading information. That subtype is marked by positive symptoms (false beliefs, disorganised speech/thoughts). Cannabis misuse activating the disorder on a long term basis would leave the patient with primarily negative symptoms (reduced motivation, loss of pleasure, social isolation etc). A more appropriate term would be “disorganised schizophrenia”. The patient may show positive symptoms during active phases but if you’re suggesting symptoms of psychiatric illness remain for the rest of their lives, they’ll be more prone to negative symptoms, which still don’t make one a danger to themselves/others, just socially inconvenient and may reduce independent living capacity.

Who else is here only because the thumbnail looked like someone in the midst of experiencing a cannabis induced psychotic episode? As for the premise of this talk, I'm skeptical. Correlation does not equal or prove causation. Why didn't we see a high incidence of this issue all through the 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s and -2000s? Why suddenly now? I anticipate NPCs will explain the high THC rates in modern strains and products, but I suspect that is far too simplistic and there could more in play here. I'm not a user or advocate by the way. Used to enjoy it in my teens but felt it wasn't much fun at all once I got older and had kids.
@nickr688Ай бұрын
Lol. That is why I clicked. Skepticism is awesome but let me offer my perspective. I think the main driver is almost 100 percent the potency issue and the new types of products. Of course, psychosocial factors will affect outcomes, and, of course, other addictions, some psychiatric meds, and/or social atomization will increase psychosis risk. It would be silly to say that the only thing at play is the drug. But, the drug's forms have changed with the times in a fast and dangerous way. Of course there were extract products around in the 60s, but it was all, like, hash products, which include the CB noids and don't approach anywhere near 100% THC content by weight. And, I will be the first to admit, I was not alive then, so I cannot be certain what's true. Yet, I am confident that access to 100% THC products is the newest and most pressing issue in this space. As a user who's seeking help, the major development in the past less-than-a-decade has been the proliferation of ready-to-use disposable vape devices filled with 100% THC, or worse, synthetic THCs like HHC, HXC, THC-O, etc. While these aren't quite as dangerous as many of the "spice" cannabinoids that do exist, there are soooooo many legal items available in the USA which perhaps should have been regulated to begin with in the 2016 Farm Bill. These are so convenient to acquire and use, and so, so, much more potent than you might imagine as a non-user. Depends on the user, many know their limits or have acutely bad outcomes, but yes the pure THC experience can be seriously addictive. I think it is pretty clear, based on what I see being cultivated and sold, why this is taking off nowadays as opposed to in past decades.
