Holland's depiction is just absurdly charming and quirky and perfect. 1) Downey and Tomei dated for a year or so in the '90s, so leaving me chuckling at interactions and comments between Tony and Aunt May. 2) Paul Bettany voiced JARVIS for Stark, and in this movie, his wife, Jennifer Connelly, voices KAREN for Peter. 3) The Captain America videos were great. @@Galiant2010 Well that gets complicated. I'm aware of 3 examples of Peter of Earth-616 and not a clone, skrull shapeshifter, life model decoy, or whatever (as far as we know at the moment) having a serious relationship: Betty Brant, Gwen Stacy, and Mary Jane Watson. Liz Allen is complicated, she and Peter had thing where one was only interested in the other when they were unavailable. Liz Toomes/Allen in the movie is further complicated in that she is the daughter of Adrian Toomes, but on 616 she's not, and he has a daughter named Valeria instead, although she uses the assumed surname of Jessup to hide the connection to her criminal father. Peter on Earth 616 has also had a mutual attraction that never made it to a proper relationship (I think) with Felicia Hardy and Cindy Moon, and then there's Jessica Campbell (later Jessica Jones and later still Jessica Jones-Cage) who had a one sided crush on him when they were classmates. In alternate realities there's at least one prominent one (Earth-1610) where he also had a relationship with Kitty Pryde. As an interesting note, on Earth-982 which diverged from 616 shortly after the birth of Peter and MJ's daughter, said daughter (probably not a clone) at one point had a thing for Liz Allen's son (also probably not a clone), who was in a relationship with the daughter (no reason to think she's a clone) of Blackie Drago who was the Vulture after Adrian Toomes gave it up which ties all these characters together in a weird way a generation along in an alternate reality. I'm sure I've made at least one mistake in that but that's my best understanding.

So, the final stinger, Captain America and the joke about patience, is actually a reinforcement of the the film's overall theme. Peter wants to just jump straight into a professional superhero career with the Avengers, but everyone's telling him to slow down and not skip over this point in his life. Essentially, to have patience. He learns this by the end of the film, turning down a spot on the Avengers because he recognizes he's not really ready for it yet, that he now has the patience to wait until he is.

The sequel also must be seen before the third MCU Spider-Man movie, "Spider-Man: No Way Home", so it's most efficient to see "Venom" after "Spider-Man: Homecoming" and "Venom: There Will Be Carnage" after "Spider-Man: Far From Home". Even though there is a brief crossover, the Venom films are part of the Sony-verse and NOT MCU films but the character of Venom is a prominent Spider-Man antagonist.

Zendaya was a great choice for the role of MJ (Michelle Jones) in the Tom Holland Spider-Man trilogy (haven't seen the other two, so PLEASE no spoilers, people (I MEAN IT)), but she was especially great in this one due to her being sassy at times. I loved that. Also, Michael Keaton portrayed The Vulture as more of a sympathetic villain. The guy was just doing all this for the sake of his family. And when he didn't tell Scorpion about Spidey's true identity, I think he felt grateful to Peter for saving his life that he lied about not knowing he was Spider-Man. Also, Aaron (Donald Glover) mentioning Miles? Bet you're glad you also watched Into the Spider-Verse, huh? Well, "Across the Spider-Verse" is on the way, so I hope you're looking forward to that! I know I certainly am!

That Captain America psa at the end of the credits was such a troll move, especially back in the cinema where you couldn't just skip past the credits.

The actors who play Ned and Betty are in a very entertaining fantasy movie titled, "Every Day." I recommend it.
