Need to use a desoldering gun to heat and suck the solder out to replace the bearing at the bell end. You can try on a old motor rocket(V2/V3) to test it out.

Yes, that would work. I thought about doing it, but the work involved, on top of no performance gains, changed my mind to not do it. On top of that, I was afraid it might change the sensor readings.

@@wutupclegg6618 another method is to file out a larger diameter on the board. anyway, only try on a retired surpass sensor board first. I believe there is only less than 1mm. desolder should be ok. those are hall sensors I suspend they intentionally do that, so they limit the life span. LoL. They sell sensor board with the bearing installed.

Best regards! Same doubts as previous videos... logistics! Where did you buy the screws? (3/32?) Unfortunately the MotoSafe Tuning Stand & Rotor Storage Case is no longer available anywhere.

Hey Luis. I obtained the screws from Amain Hobbies. There have been a lot of inquiries for that motor stand. I'll reach out to them and see when they will be available.

Great videos. Where can you get the shims, ceramic bearings

I picked mine up from Amain Hobbies. However, if you have a Surpass V6, the endbell bearing is built into the endbell. The sensor board is permanently fastened to the endbell, which makes the bearing stuck in there. The bearings, shims, and screws are the same size as the Trinity Slot Machine.

@wutupclegg6618 thank you I got the shims in. I will try taking the motor apart one day lol. You mentioned you can't get to the back side right? So we're just added a shim to the front end correct?

You can take the Rotor out. You just can't remove the back bearing from the end cap. I would recommend getting the Motor Service Tray from WMH Racing. You'll really be happy to have the tool to remove, and install, the Rotor.

do the extra performance from ceramic bearing and titanium screws make a bigger differance on a mod motor like a hobbywing 6.5T?
@wutupclegg6618
@wutupclegg6618 10 ай бұрын
I don't believe the would. Are you in need of a faster 6.5 motor? That's a pretty fast motor as it is, unless it is old and warn.

@@wutupclegg6618 haha no i dont need a faster motor then my 6.5T as i just need to crank up turbo timing if i need more speed :) would be fun tho to know if it makes a bigger % of increse in power or if titanium screws and ceramic bearings is as good as snake oil pedaled by the pro drivers.

I noticed the slop too. I know you said the upgrades arent worth it but would it be worth it to shim the rotor? Ive never shimmed a motor before so im assuming you shimmed the front end. I noticed some people shimming too much on the back side and the sensors were too far away to read properly. But i was curious if adding shims to the front would take the slop out and help performance. Thank you

Hello Legends Pizza. Is that a pizza joint you own? Where is it located? You usually shim the front of it. Sometimes, I will remove the rear shims and shim it from the front. You just have to make sure your rotor doesn't hit the sensors. The Surpass uses the same shims as the Trinity Slot Machines.

@wutupclegg6618 I'm on amain looking at shims and there is hundreds. I sorted by trinity and still don't understand what size the shims are. I see a few companies that make kits with a bunch if different sizes. I will keep searching but if you know the size it would help. Thank you for your guidance

@@wutupclegg6618 no need to apologise. People have lives and things to do. And i understand. Thanks for letting me know. Thought i had issues with bearings. The issue was a big piece of magnet some how got into my motor from the track and made it stop spinning. All good now. :)
