Maybe tilt the tank so it naturally runs to the suction of the pump.

I'm looking at doing something similar with my 7x14 but not sure about the ground clearance. What is your clearance like?

It's between the axles so doesn't hang below the lowest point

I don't have black water. Grey water I have a Portable tank if I go somewhere with no hook up.

Probably nothing. Just like 99% of all cargo trailers/car haulers there is untreated wood in the bottom side because it didn't get very wet much. It would only get a little wet if you were pulling it while it was raining. Water couldn't get to it any other time. Then it would still dry before there was any damage done. If you're still worried about it just spray it with something. A coat of rubberized undercoating would probably work out great
