Adding a little boost to the 4Runner!💪

The super charger is a game changer on the 4Runner. Some might say it’s a big expense, but after having it you would never drive a 4Runner again without it. What a difference it makes. No more gear searching no more high rpm up on the freeway up the climbs and better mpg and amazing towing power. We install over 10 super chargers a month and we do it for a reason. This is truly a game changer!

Supercharger is the best bang for the buck. I have a 2002 toyota trd tacoma with the trd supercharger...wow! 75 more horsepower and 75 lbs more torque. I bought it brand new and now have almost 284,000 miles on it. Always change oil at 3,000 miles. Only run premium. Totally, trouble free miles. Now, I also have a 2023 4runner 40th anniversary and am thinking of adding a supercharger on it....Westcott Designs looks like the place to have it done!!!

Last summer I installed my own Magnuson on my new 2023 4Runner when it had 400 miles on it. I've now got 7k miles on it and it's the best upgrade I've made. Absolutely no way I could ever be happy in a 4Runner without one.

Consider a good tune. I've got a supercharged 4.0 Tacoma and the Overland Tailor Tune added over 35 more horsepower/torque to the wheels versus the Bullydog tune that came with the Magnuson! My next ride if anything happens to the Taco is probably gonna be a 4Runner TRD Pro or 5.7 Tundra with a Magnuson blower.

Say Jeff, When you added the 34.5 tires & the Turbo Charger, what would you consider for Upgrading the Breaks? This is important and something that I am looking at with a set of 315's on my 2019 4Runner. Thank you kindly!!

I feel the the brakes don’t suffer like the power does going to the larger tire. I feel going from the 33’s to the 37’s on 3/4 and 1 ton trucks is much more noticeable.

It is not a catch can. It’s the coolant reservoir.

That's a great set-up on that Solar Octane 4Runner! Why does that white 4Runner have shackles on the tie-down points? The tie-downs can't be used reliably for extraction. You need to sell that owner some real extraction points or make a custom bumper for them, or both!

How do you feel about overall reliability of the 4runner adding the Magnuson? I'm considering adding this to my daily driver TRD. Like the idea of small amt of boost to get the rig more power. Thanks in advance for the advice!

Extremely reliable as long as you run premium fuel. We would not own another 4Runner without one.

If you don't mind paying a little extra for Premium and maybe a couple MPG's down if you're on the throttle more then it is totally awesome. It'll be a little more than zippy.

Update: 3 months after installing the Magnuson supercharger on my 2024 4Runner (@ only 800 total miles), no regrets. I agree, I couldn’t have one without it now. Make no mistake it’s not a dragster, but from a dead stop sooo much better. I was worried about reliability but it’s been perfect. I inspect the tensioners and belt too much. They are perfect. Just past 3,000 miles on it. I would buy the supercharger again.

We don’t sell the kit by itself. We only sell it with install. Magnuson makes all kits to be paid for 8 weeks out from time to receive them so it does not make any sense to sell the supercharger without install.
