the car isn’t connected to the door except thru the electronics. use a t-tap connector on the OEM wire if you’re afraid to damage it

@@eagle56786 Hi thanks for the response. I am using a Wago 3 pin connector instead so I never have to cut, pin or splice into OEM wires. Works a treat. Just hoping to confirm are both front door modules and wiring looms the same or do they differ?

Hi you can use either VCDS or carista. No need for both 😀 you have to pay for carista

I don’t get it, why is everyone showing the front door, what about the Rear????

The rear on a golf doesn’t have a door control module unlike the A3. There is no easy factory like way to do it.

@@andygardner3177 I did it like some say but still have 5v coming to the door after door closed. It does not drain the battery if driving everyday but if I leave the car for a week it may drain the battery. I will need to install a 12v regulator.

I partly agree and it’s certainly a more reliable connection, but it excludes people and it’s easy to make a mess of especially if your forced to do it in midair etc. I’m okay at soldering but for car electrics I often chose connection blocks or repinning adding to wires two the connector. People sometimes want to be able to remove mods without stuff being super visible as well.
