I wouldn't say a word, and keep my job. That being said, I'd slowly distance myself from this Nicole and just maintain a cordial relationship in the work place. A lot of tines, the wife already knows she's being cheated on anyway, and we all know Nicole and Renee's husband KNOW what they're doing and don't care. 9 times out of 10, you're most likely to get the short end of the stick and come off as nosy rather than be of help.

I came out of it losing two friends (the couple) and one that permanently changed (the “disloyal” friend). Since, I learned to do my best to avoid those situations. If your best friend will sleep with a mutual friends Man, then, Your man isn't off limits either... Remember that. She not only has low morals but poor self esteem, create distance because you don't want to be involved if / when others find out. Also, most companys have a retaliation policy and will do an ethics investigation anonymously. Do yourself a favor and document the situation with the date of occurrence and time then email it to yourself from your work email to personal for your personal records and if there is any retaliation or harrassment on the job you've started to protect yourself preemptively.... The advice of not saying anything is why side chicks thrive. I would act so funny with her that she would KNOW i knew something and NEVER discuss my relationship or any other friends with her.

While the pandemic has made things hard re: employment, if she was able to get this job, she can definitely find another one, it just depends on the strategy you take to seeking new opportunities. She can still look for one while she’s working there. the dynamic of the work environment has now changed, so I agree that she should find something else while she’s still working there in order to get away from it. As long as she networks within her industry/city/other people and orgs, she’s able to find something better that can pay her just the same, if not more.

Well this is where people need to educate themselves more you can't fire someone because they told your business like that you put yourself into that situation that's on you. He knew the cost when he was cheating and she knew the cost when she was messing with a married man you can get seriously hurt for that and in certain States you can sue the significant person who destroyed your marriage most girls who say they want their friends to be quiet remember this can happen to you you got to learn to put yourself in other people's shoes would you want your friends to be quiet and they found out your significant other was cheating on you with someone close to you or she could just take it up to HR

Don't be rude to people you don't know makes you look like an ass 8. We only know one side of the story but there are only two parties who are in the wrong here and in the eyes of the laws that's what matters. 9 the guy aka her boss probably has a history of doing this because if you listen to the story you can tell he's too comfortable getting away with it. 10 that was your opinion and this is mine you don't have to agree with me but have a bless day or night and I wish you well.

I did not expect this response from you guys 😬- in my opinion, a true best friend would check their friends, tell them to do right, and either stop being friends with them (if they behave like it’s not an issue) or at least keep their distance from the friend. Life is like a boomerang, if you know something is wrong and stay quiet about it, best believe it can always happen back. Also, it’s understandable that you don’t want to lose your job and you just got your life back together, but once the money-load overtakes your desire to do right, you’ve lost more internally than you would ever have, had you made the correct decision. Telling the partner who has been cheated on about the affair would be a last resort for me, if the husband or the friend themselves has not come clean, and I would tell them anonymously to keep myself out of the situation as much as possible

This is easy to say until it comes down to keeping your mouth shut vs being on the street with your kids/dependents. Life isn’t so black and white, I’d risk my integrity to keep my kids healthy and safe. Integrity doesn’t put food on the table. Maslows Hierarchy of Needs comes to mind. I’ll secure my basic needs then worry about my character. Just like I’d steal before I let my kids go hungry. It’s shitty, but it’s life. A true best friend is still not on the same level as my own kids or elderly parents.
@zuhairlunat2199
@zuhairlunat2199 2 жыл бұрын
@@BybeeBunnie think about it this way, had you been the spouse who was cheated on in this situation, wouldn’t you want to find out about your partner if they were cheating? Granted if you know something about someone, but they have no relation to you- it’s none of your business; but it doesn’t change the fact that what’s happened is wrong and the partner deserves to know. You don’t even need to directly get involved; talking to the best friend (cause you’re best friends, there should be an understanding of how they’d react to being told off, and you can do it in a way which you know they’ll be able to take it) would be wise, and then perhaps directly telling the spouse about the issue can be a last resort if you think that they are still getting cheated on. Also have you forgotten about job security and how it is practically illegal to fire someone for reasons like “knowing about the cheating scandal” 😭.

@@zuhairlunat2199 Laws like unreasonable firing aren’t always implemented also they could literally make up a reason to fire her like pin something on her. Like the previous comment said life isn’t black and white and also I think you underestimate how evil someone can truly get when you tell them they know your secret like an affair. She can go from a best friend to your worst nightmare. I’d look for another job or tell the one who’s being cheated on anonymously cause I don’t believe in cheaters getting away with stuff like that but I also understand people who don’t say anything cause they have kids and the kids do come before some morally corrupt “best friend”

I completely agree with A. The fact that she even considered the idea that her friend will tell the boss and that will result in her getting fired to me says that both “Nicole” and the boss are very reactive people who will take great offense to her just knowing. In my opinion I think she should distance herself from Nicole if it’s bothering her to the point where it’s effecting their relationship. I kinda understand where “Erica” is coming from because I currently have a co-worker friend who’s sleeping with another one of our coworkers who’s married; I’ve been trying to talk to her about how it’s wrong, she’s screwing herself over,and to stop wasting energy on a man who doesn’t show basic respect towards his wife and has no respect for you. A married doesn’t cheat with women he respects, he cheats with women he knows will give him what he wants.

At the end of the day you’re grown and can do what you want but as you’re best friend I would hope you take what I am telling you into consideration! Not only are you a playing part of breaking up a home but 9/10 the man will stay with his wife and you will be the one in pieces!!! Also because I caught y’all I might be at risk of losing my job, which you know how important this is for me and my kids” The man is responsible in telling his wife or not! Jeannie is right! Mind your business, that doesn't concern you. Firstly, your job is the highest priority; especially in this pandemic. Secondly, I would tell the best friend on the side (if she takes my advice great, if she doesn't also great; let it not be said I never tried). Otherwise, I'm coming to the office to do my work, not to watch people's rshps. There is a popular Jamaican proverb 🇯🇲 "Kacroach nuh biznizz eena fowl fight.". Translation: A cockroach has no business in a fowl fight. In other words, don’t get involved or take sides in family fights, feuds and disagreements. What don't concern you, don't concern you. Don't put people's problems on your head.

Ummm this “mess” was not “addressed”. 😂 But have to agree with Garcelle’s quick comment that if they didn’t want to people to know then they shouldn’t be bringing it to work. And bc she saw this at their place of employment I think legally if she doesn’t report this to HR, and honestly she could do it without these particular “friends” finding out, that could possibly risk her own position if it comes to light that she was aware. But to each their own I guess.

As a Christian, I’m utterly perplexed by Jeanne’s statement (“extra credit Christian”) and by Adrienne’s position. I don’t believe there’s any wisdom in anything they’ve said, but there is a whole lot of fear masquerading as worldly wisdom (i.e. fear of losing her job). I’m not saying that it’s unreasonable to be concerned about losing your job, but if that supersedes your devotion as a follower of Christ and leads you to make decisions that don’t reflect him and his integrity then you’re allowing the enemy to cloud good and wise judgement. Isn’t God greater than anyone in any position here on earth? Wasn’t Jesus faithful unto death? Not that anyone took His life, but He laid it down for the joy set before Him. That’s the type of walk we are called to as believers. We are set apart from the world. It may seem “extra” to folks like Jeanne, but those who know are aware of the greater things that await true believers both here on earth and after this present earth. With that being said, it’s understood that this is an incredibly difficult situation, however the Holy Spirit can guide her in the right direction. There’s a time to be silent and there’s a time to speak. The book of Esther is an excellent example of how a woman won favor with a king and saved her people - and herself - from being put to death. She risked HER LIFE to do what was right before the Lord. If that doesn’t resonate, we can take any number of civil rights heroes who risked life and limb for justice. Some people may say we are not called to that level of morality, faith and justice, but that is wrong. Those people were common people with common concerns just like us - what it boils down to is our decisions. Will we be guided by fear or by faith?

I also would suspect that if that friend is this morally corrupt I’d suspect why she helped me out. Was it out of the godness of her heart or was it to hold it over me when we start to fight. In this situation she has kids so I understand staying silent and distancing from the friend but I’d still suggest that she should look for another job cause you never want someone to hold something over you like “I helped you out of almost becoming homeless”

If that was my husband cheating on me, I would want to know regardless of the situation and I won’t trust anyone who knew and kept quiet about it. I have witnessed friendships damaged because one person knew their friend’s husband was cheating, kept quiet about it (to all parties) and then the wife somehow found out they had known for a while. There would be no need to sue if she doesn’t get fired. If Nicole is as good and loyal a person/friend as she’s hoping to seem, she wouldn’t let her friend get fired for talking to her (or even Renée, but my statement above was about talking to Nicole), about what she’s doing not being okay. I won’t let someone doing one nice thing for me put me in bondage or forever indebted to them. If, in this situation, instead of having an affair with our mutual friend’s husband, I found out Nicole robbed/burgled somewhere, killed someone or harmed anyone in any way, I would do the same thing. I won’t keep myself in bondage. A good friend would speak up when her friend is in the wrong no matter what and a good friend would not expect her friend to forever be indebted or untruthful because she did something nice for her.

But they have not legal standing to fire her for telling them they are wrong nor telling the wife what's actually going on. now the wife might know and get mad at her for saying something instead of getting mad at her husband and the cheating friend, but that's something else. you can not loose your job over this unless they want to pay you for no longer working there.
