Oh I loved your little week series of chores. You just emulated everything we all feel! So I can report I have done the top shelf of my Milsbo wide and thoroughly cleaned it. But sitting on top of the cabinet I have about 6 large clear acrylic bins with all my alocasia and anthurium babies in for my shop. I really needed to go through them all decide what needed repotting, what needed to come out and what needed to sta y. It was such a well needed job to do. BTW I have a Hoya like your Sumatra that has grown all through the grid! I thought this series of videos really spoilt us this week and was sooooo useful. Please do it again maybe in Fall. Thank you Fern for inspiring and pushing me to do the same myself. X

I still love my milsbo cabinet! I actually have it in a little niche that it fits into perfectly. It’s away from windows/ natural light so it brightens up an otherwise darkened area. I do keep some of my fussy plants in there, it gives me the opportunity to grow them. Otherwise all my other plants fend for themselves in ambient room air and natural light…… ha, mostly. I do augment one plant stand with barina lights. I’m lucky. I have a wall of south facing windows.

You did a great job with this reset of the Milsbo tall. I love the different colors and textures, especially on the bottom half. And oh my, I missed Mr gigas! He is something special! In terms of getting rid of the cabinet, if you decide not to have it there , maybe you could store it in the basement for a bit. That way if you change your mind and decide you really do want it then you don’t have to repurchase it all. And even if you do find something else more permanent for that spot, you can always sell the Milsbo tall down the road. Just a thought.

Fern, I wouldn't get rid of your Milsbo Cabinet. So much work and expense, setting them up. I have one like that, only white I love it would never get rid of it. My plants love it in there. I would really like to got the wide one as well. As my collection seems to be Growing. LOL But I don't have big plants, mostly cactus and succulents. As we just don't have enough room in our small house, for big plants. I have really been loving your daily shows. Each one so interesting. As I have been watching, I finally pulled the trigger and ordered 2 big bags of Molly's Cactus and Succulent. This will be my second order, I ran out before I could get the last 6 of them re-potted, But they are loving that mix. Thank you so much for taking us along on these wonderful shows. I know I will be watching again. Have a Great Day Kathy from Alberta.

I think I have a thing about they're all fine and protected in there, luckily they're all doing well. I never weather-stripped my cabinet. Imho, given you're in BC I don't think it's necessary. - Yeah, speaking of inspiration - thank you! I feel overwhelmed by my plants too sometimes, and I have like 65 only, but some of them grew so big I can't find a spot for them. I did one turn of giving some of them away, and I feel like I should do another round. And If you are saying - I don't even really like that plant - thats your sign to get rid of it honey - you won't miss it! :) You did so many things this week, I feel inpired to finally do repotting which is so long overdue...

I had a weird cabinet that I just walked past a million times and was on the fence over until one day I threw something of color in there and slowly this room item I for the most part ignored because of this little bonus area of color. I found this tiny small crystal light fixture and hung it inside my cabinet - not used as a light source - but with the crystals hanging down on it the light from the window would give off all these little rainbows of color making it look quite magical.
