I'm trying to try (lol) this thing called "grounding" (which is new to me), basically just taking off your shoes and letting your feet have direct contact with organic material (aka the ground). Hi Fern! First of all, always love your videos! Your content is spot on for what I want to watch! I've been eyeing your begonia Fannie Moser and Lynda Dawn for a while now. I love their dark foliage. I'm finally ready to add one of them to my collection. I think I'm going to get the Fannie Moser as I don't want to add both and I prefer the leaf shape and coloring. However, as I've been perusing the internet for a specimen that I want to purchase, I'm seeing some photos where the leaves look dark and other photos where the leaves don't look so dark. With the Fannie Moser have dots, I'm wondering if it looks similar to a maculata whightii and will I be disappointed once I get them side-by-side!?

My Fannie Moser looks a lot different than my Maculata. It's very dark. I do find that Begonia's can vary a lot in colour based on the conditions they're grown in, but so far mine has stayed super dark and gorgeous!

Cadence and her famous sleeping positions 😂. Wouldn't it be easier on you to walk around with a watering can and water in place and bring only the ones that can't be watered in place to the sink. I have about the same amount as you and I can't see myself bringing them all to the sink.

Yesss haha it definitely would be easier. Don’t ask me why I’m so set in my ways of bringing them to the sink 😂 I think once I have cover pots/drainage trays under them all I will try watering them in place.

I have about 150 plants and I also water my plants in sections too. A couple plants require extra watering until they get repotted so they get checked after 4 days. I give time every day for watering and plant care usually in the am that way I can keep up with it

Loved this video form! I haven't been following you intently for the last couple years but I just recently became fully self employed and I got to watch this while getting some of my morning work done! I loved seeing you go about your morning routine while I was doing mine. I need to catch up on some of your more recent planty practices. My collection has been suffering lately and I need to revive a bunch of my plants this growing season. I'm moving next week into a house that has every type of window except west facing from an apartment that only had west facing windows. I'm excited to get more bright, indirect light!

Those squeeze bottles you used on the moss poles in the beginning are so convenient. Just curious why you don't take them to the shower or sink to water like the rest of your plants?

I do if the pot needs to be watered too. But if the poles just need to be touched up I use the squeeze bottles :)

I can’t understand why you water your moss poles like that. I have 8 soda bottles with holes in the lid that I fill with nutrient solution & pop them on. When they’re empty, everything is saturated. It’s every 3-4 days for me, but it takes no time at all.

Why do you waste time poring water in the poles when you can use water bottles put holes in the cap and put it in the top of the pole and it’s done.

I like to do it this way :) I think it would be a lot more fussy to be messing around trying to balance water bottles in there, plus hard to monitor how much water is going in and risking overwatering. To each their own though - I'm all for whatever suits everyone to make their plant care routines best for them!

Omg, what a book!! I listened to the audiobook too! It's so hard to listen to what happened in his life, and so heart wrenching! What a life he was faced with, and the strength he had ❤️‍🩹 I would recommend anyone to listen to it, it's so hard to hear, but I think many people could take so much away from it!
