Japan is peaceful. You're so lucky, Aden. I love how she cooks and prepares his meals. So delicate and methodical- no "rush, rush, rush like it is here in the US. Having a decently prepared dinner must be a pleasure, as well as being quiet and respectful.

I am surprised to see that she cooked the steak on low heat, I guess to not burn the vegetables, or to avoid too much smoke.

Personally, I would have preferred a harder sear on the steaks, as well as a fresh plate for each one. The oil was accumulating and the lone little dab of wasabi left on the used plate was sad.

That's how its suppose to be served. Also, Aden might've ordered it very rare; we burn our meats to high and too fast in the west. All the natural flavor and juices are evaporated. Poor animal was sacrificed so we can at least take our time and savor its flesh.

True Wasabi has a bright, vegetal flavor with heat that dissaptes quickly - it doesn't over power the food. The aroma is delicate and somewhat floral. The ersatz Wasabi available outside of Japan, has a harsh pungent flavor and doesn't contain actual Wasabi.
