This is not the exact reason for every 100 th yr(century ) is not a leap year but every 400 th yr is a leap year It is because earth takes 365 days 48 min 46 sec for a complete revolution (it is slightly less than 365 days 6 hrs. So every yr there is a shortage of 12 min. This has to be subtracted( 1200 min which is equal to 20 hrs and is equal to approx 1day ) in every century. And every 400 yrs 4+4+4+4 = 16 hrs aporox 1day ha to be added So 2000, 2400, 2800 yrs are leap yrs be but not 1700,1800,1900,2100,2200 etc Thanks

1896 ഒരു ലീപ് ഇയർ ആയിരുന്നു. അടുത്ത ലീപ് ഇയർ വരുന്നത് 8 ആം വർഷത്തിലാണ് അതായത് 1904... അപ്പോൾ maxmimum gap between two adjecent leap year എന്നത് 4 വർഷ മല്ല. അത് 8 വർഷമാണ്.... ഇതിനുള്ള കാരണം ഏകദേശം മനസിലായത് ഈ വീഡിയോ കണ്ടതിനു ശേഷമാണ്... Thanks bro👍👍👍🥰

A very informative video. At the same time many people are not aware of the origin of Kollavarsham. It came to be called so because it was started in Kollam. The starting of this calendar is linked to the arrival of the spice trader and Astronomer Marwan Sapir Iso from Edessa ( present day South Turkey) along with two bishops Mor Sabore and Mor Aphroth from Nineveh ( present day Mosul of Iraq) along with some families to Kollam in 823 AD. They built the Tharissappally church at Thevally in Kollam which was dedicated in August 824 AD. In commemoration of this event, the Kollavarsham was started based on a similar zodiac calendar being used in the romanised Mesopotamian region from where these people came. Thus we have Chingom or Simham for Leo or lion, Kanni or Kanniyaka for virgo or virgin etc. The local language used in Kollam in the 9th century was a form of old Tamil only and hence those terms.
