I also feel that the Risk Sharing responsibilities have not been agreed before hand - has an agreement been made on Guided vs Prompted vs Independent driving for each section of the drive? It seems that the instructor is just constantly telling the pupil which gear to use (25:40) (26:10), or when to apply the handbrake (27:09)- none of that was agreed before hand until 29:25. Its also clear that the pupil has a problem using the brakes which is evidenced by the constant sharp sudden braking - surely the instructor should now adapt the lesson and have a session on using the brakes efficiently?

Hi Howard. The ' Instructor ' has a nice calm manner but I thought he lacked control especially with MSPSL at junctions and RAB's. You constantly kept looking down at your gear stick when approaching junctions thus taking his eyes off the road. I don't wish to be too critical as his delivery was good but I felt that the errors you made should have been identified and rectified, so when doing left and right turns and using MSPSL would be a blueprint for his RAB's. But a good job and good luck Sir.

On part 3 role play, are ADI trainers who play as role play learners allowed to make various deviations, my ADI trainer who I've been training with said he's not allowed to make deliberate mistakes such as rolling forward or not checking mirrors before signaling or changing lanes etc ?
@How-2-driveАй бұрын
Hello. The trainer can make driving faults to simulate a real learner. The trainer, however is responsible for risk. The trainer can not do anything that is dangerous or illegal. To do this the trainer may say what they intend to do, ie I’m going to pull out in front of this car, to give the PDI a chance to intervene either verbally or physically. I hope that helps

Are we allowed to cross the give way lines when we r dealing with undue hesitation at junctions? I know we are but do we first have to stop before them and then peep and creep? If we come to a stop a little beyond give way lines will that be a serious fault?
@Worms_Pro3 ай бұрын
Yes you have to stop before them, if you don't what would be the risks and dangers of any vehicle who comes up to a junction and passes the line?

If we have an emergency vehicle behind us and only way they can pass us by us going on the kerb. Do we have to go on the kerb and give them space to pass? Will our pupil fail their test for if they don’t go on the kerb to allow space for emergency vehicle?
@How-2-drive5 ай бұрын
In these situations, the examiner will assist the pupil and advise them on what to do. So on a lesson, the instructor will do this too and help the pupil. On a Parr 3, discuss so that learning takes place.

Hello, can you do sat navigation training in Pdi part 3 test with student?
@How-2-drive5 ай бұрын
Yes you can incorporate into the lesson if they would like to develop this skill. But this will net be enough to pass.. You must be identifying their learning needs and fixing faults during the lesson too

I feel that during the Move off and Stop manoeuvre at 21:49, there was no discussion about routines. The instructor could have had a talk on the POM routine which then would have also included the 6-point check, which was only discussed further along at 22:55.
@How-2-drive Жыл бұрын
Great point, well made. Thank you. We need to get the pupil to use the basic ‘tools’ to do the job as this will help them remember and then transfer of responsibility will be easier.

You probably meant MSM routine when pulling up on the left again not POM

Hello to everyone . my part 3 test 15 May. My lesson plan. Meeting and Anticipation. Could you please help me with which questions to ask during the test.
@How-2-drive6 ай бұрын
Just make sure you are delivering the lesson that the pupil needs on the day. As for questions, these will need to be relevant for the situation and how your pupil is doing. Don’t prepare a script or a pre set lesson plan as this will almost certainly fail.
@HarryR-ti8dn5 ай бұрын

"Did the trainer ensure that the pupil fully understood how the responsibility for risk would be shared?" how was this requirement satisfied?
@32kri10 ай бұрын
It it a fail - not pass. Level of responsibility at the roundabouts regarding observation agreed ( guided - talked - through) but during the drive PDI does prompt. Did not mention or get a student to tell who's got more responsibility at the beginning, allowed student to break sharply instead of react earlier. Risk management - does the student know who is he responsible for?..
