@How-2-drive3 жыл бұрын
Take control! Explain the benefits of engine braking and the effects of coasting. Instruct on when to depress clutch. Get them to ‘feel’ the difference for themselves. Keep an eye on it and prompt until it’s habit
@birdofpreybop3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the video Howard. I agree with the other comments about having issues identifying when the learner is coasting. Could you also add "watching the pupil in a lesson" to the list? In other words, watching the road ahead and watching the pupil at the same time. Thank you in advance.

I would also like to see you cover the top ten reasons why pupils fail. Maybe break each failure down into bit sized videos rather than one long video, if possible please Howard?
@How-2-drive3 жыл бұрын
Ok, one of the main reasons PDI's fail is because of poor fault analysis, the top of this video. By taking a fault and analysing it correctly (ie, getting to the root cause) will mean PDI's come up with the correct remedial action. Are you needing help with the remedies to my 10 suggested possible causes? If so, write down what you would do for each and I'll take a look, email to howard@how-2-drive.com

The fault should be, why have you just gone into a no entry road, with those markings that's what it is, if it were one way there would only be one broken line.
@How-2-drive3 жыл бұрын
Mmm, not so sure that’s right! Two way roads do have double giveaway lines extending across the whole junction with no centre white line! Pretty common mistake pupils make thinking it’s one way. Of course if it was a one way or no entry signs would be posted. If it was a no entry, we’d need to intervene to prevent the illegal turn.

I'm sure there will be at least one that you can find in your area. We've got a lot in Norwich on housing estates and I've never really understood why they mark them this way. Some roads are quite wide, but most are narrow. I'll find a picture of one near me that pupils often assume it's a one way and post it in this thread. Thanks for watching BTW
