Good review. Please try to improve the sound quality. I do feel my hamstring sore when running with Glideride 2 or Craft CTM Ultra which has a high stack.

This was good for getting me back to running healthy. I've had perpetual ankle injuries but have been able to do faster work in this shoe because of the mechanic changes. Of course I would never race in it but great for workouts.

I don't know why the manufacturer laces the shoes the way they do, it makes no sense to me. You can't tighten the shoe to your foot without a lot of work. I ended up relacing them in the standard way which made much more sense.

Good points ! I went for my first run with the new Prime X Strung and I immediately noticed the quads were more tired than usually. Not sure about the ankles being less used as I felt I needed to pay special attention to my ankles because of the stack height and limited stability. I also agree they don't feel like a racing shoe, even compared to my Tempo Next. Maybe I have weaker glutes and that would be why I don't feel as fast as in something like Tempo Next, Vaporfly and Alphafly. I've not tried running downhill with them yet but I will be extra careful now that you have mentioned it ;)

I was considering this for a marathon, I’m usually 1/2 marathon and below, I can legitimately race those. But now I’m wondering if Adios Pro 2 would be better…

Hi, nice review, is the New Balance TC a better option? also thinking in training, long distance, recovery, not speed days. Is it more stable or has also stability issues? Thanks

Interesting comment about more cushioning not necessarily being more protective. That makes sense, especially if you're 'fighting' the shoe as opposed to riding it. I have this shoe and I didn't find my quads or glutes sore after using it and I did find that the rods in the forefoot actually propelled me forward so my easy pace was 15-20 secs. faster without any more effort. I actually have the same experience with the Boston 10 however that shoe is more stable and a more firm ride.

@@i.p2088 Honestly, this is a very versatile shoe that can be used for recovery, long runs, tempo and everyday. Favors those who are mostly mid to fore foot stickers.

Ended up buying these at a bargain. Just wanted to say that in hindsight your observations are spot on. On my usual route I have some down slopes and these shoes require real attention taking those. Terrifying was the right word. I like them but only use them on flat straight asphalt runs. Not very versatile as a trainer.

thanks, interesting review, love your content. just two suggestions: would be nice for people outside of Liberia, Burma and the USA if you could also give the metric values, and the audio has room for improvement, not sure what the room looks like but a decent mic from e.g. Rode or Deity may help a lot.

I spend a lot of time in the gym working on glute and hip strengthening / flexibility......at my 5km / 10km race pace (03:45 - 04:14 / km) the Next % gives me the longest stride length of any shoe I own including the Adios Pro I - 1.58m vs approx 1.5m.....there's no doubt that if you have the hip / glute / hamstring strength etc, you will be able to run slightly faster in say the Next % than in most other shoes

I really like the AAAPRO2 and it's BIG brother the Prime X ❤️ Especially for my 55 year old legs! It has replaced the Tempo next% as my go to shoe for Easy, recovery and long runs.. and I can do my 1K intervals in the Prime X as fast as the triple A Pro2 and Vaporfly v1s! Brandon on running shoes guru thought they were faster.. in a straight line! 😁 I guess we are all biomechanically individual.. one man's meat..

Hi there, I am a bit older than you and my knees feel sore in hard shoes.. Regarding the Prime X.. I live in a village with crappie roads.. How unstable are they?

@@i.p2088 I was on some light trails yesterday with some mud and puddles.. not ideal but managed ok. They don't feel good on a camber and you wouldn't want too many pot holes but for me I love the bounce they give my old legs

@@DoctorsofRunning Hi, can you please tell me if these shoes would be good for power/speed-walking for a heavyset (230 lbs) man. I have a messed up back from a work injury & unfortunately can’t run anymore but I was wondering if these shoes with maximalist cushioning would be good for speed-walking or they’re only for runners (due to the stack height and/or offset)? Wat the PRIME X IS is an accident waiting to happen. :)) A shoe y ou guys should be STRONGLY steering your patients away from!! ;) POINTLESS. If anything....Nike should make copies of Eliud Kipchoge's 2019 Alphafly 3-plate shoe. At least you wouldn't get hurt running in that. :) What is Adidas thinking?? A POINTLESS shoe that's in each annual run of shoes. :) Not a "LTD run shoe"...
