adidas adizero Prime X Initial Review | Ridiculous concept or amazing shoe? | eddbud
At last an initial review of this insane shoe! 56mm of stack in the heel of my uk 11 / us 11.5.
A bonkers wedge of midsole foam, rods and carbon blades. Is it a leaning tower of midsole foam or a versatile and forgiving winner? Tune in to see my initial reviews to see if the Prime X can provide something new and useful within my running shoe rotation.
Have you worn this shoe? What do you make of it? Let me know down in the comments.
Adidas Adizero Prime X vs the rest coming soon.....
Hold tight people, stay strong and we WILL make it through.
Keep it nice in the comments please, i do not do unpleasant, its just ..... unpleasant. See you in the digital ones and zeros......

You know you are a shoe addict when you watch reviews of shoes you have no interest in buying. Haha! Nevertheless, I am developing the opinion that racing shoes and what works for each person is a complex affair that includes their individual biomechanics, skill level, and running/racing goals. My T-Shirt says it all, "In my mind I am a Kenyan, in my legs I am a chubby white guy." People have commented how I am not chubby at all to which I say just compare me to a Kenyan, you get the picture. ;-)

Have it and love it. Use it now for long runs and the it's effortless, to be honest. Without trying I can run 30-45 seconds faster per mile. Would really like to see the full Lightstrike pro in the next version of the Boston. That would be a world beater, IMHO.

Really happy to see that someone love this shoe as much as i do ! I’m always looking forward running with these more than the next %2, the metaspeed sky or any other pair i own, it is heavier but you don’t feel the weight, it’s versatile, effortless, forgiving for the tired legs, dynamic,.... everything you’ll ask from a running shoe ! Definitely not for recovery runs but perfect for steady / long / tempo workouts, the grip is fantastic in wet conditions.... i’m even thinking about buying a second pair !

Great review Edd. 👍 Have to second some of the comments about Adidas getting the Boston to mimic this (at the legal stack height). I've seen it in person and it's daunting consider how much height one gains with it on. 😅 Your mentioning of the versatility and protective nature of this shoe intrigued me. It would be an ideal long run shoe/max cushion shoe but the price is also at premium much like the shoe. 😕 Looking forward to the full review. 😎🏃‍♂️

I definitely don't *need* these shoes but I definitely *WANT*! I'm no racer but I do run around 80 miles per week (around 60% on the road and the rest on trails) and I like to rotate and "taste" different flavors of great running shoes. The sheer craziness of the Prime X makes me want it, if only for a 10-mile run every other week. Not sure where this would fit in amongst the three general road-running categories I have: all-out speed, daily training, and recovery/easy. It seems the Prime X has about 33% of each! Fascinating!

@@jp05598 I had lots of fun running with my old Nova Blast up to 200 miles when I had to "retire" it since the rubber disappeared everywhere ( from the heel to toe) and the middlesole was also deformed to permanently stayed severe overpronate position. Lol Anyways, the shoe did not break me but sadly I broke it ... every run was fun like hiding a skate board... and that kind unstable movement that ate all the rubber. This never have happened to me before... until the GlideRide 2 ... but that is another story about the bad durability of Asics AHAR+ in all their 2021 line of shoes ... before that Asics shoes used to last to me easily 400 miles any type of running shoe from then.

When I tried the shoe on, the tongue didn't actually cover all the distance between the lace holes on each side along the whole thing. There would always be a spot where the laces were more or less laying directly on my sock. I sent it back because that seemed too weird given what the shoe cost.

Can’t wait to try my alphafly. I had to go half size down, I’m a 9 in almost every shoe but I had a lot of extra room in these. 8.5s should be here tmrw. Endorphin pro doesn’t do it for me, I honestly like the speeds more than the pro

@@jp05598 I also don’t like the pro as a super shoe. For me it’s just a stiff trainer

Disappointed you didn't go more in depth to compare it to the Adidas Adizero adios pro 2. I was hoping you would be more definitive. You did seem to insinuate that you found it to be an easier ride than the pro 2. But then you said you didn't consider it to be a race shoe like the pro 2. Do you think you will do similar times in both shoes?

I mean this was only an initial reaction, I'd imagine if he feels a comparison is there to be made I'd imagine it would come with his full thoughts in the full review?

I talked about how I won’t be racing in it and how I was enjoying it for the running economy. But I won’t race in it. Too much stack compared to the Adios pro 2. That’s still the better shoe to me.

Didn't someone won a marathon in 2:09 with it? Goes to show you that it's not about the shoe ... if it was, he would have wore the Adios Pro 2 instead. It's all about personal preference.

I thought about it more and I do have a slight interest. It’s more of something that may save my legs but I heard it being so high your stability muscles may work harder and maybe it won’t save the legs? Hmmm… if the right deal came along I might be inclined to get it.

@@EDDBUD THAT'S engineering. I've had a few shoes that felt heavy running but were only 8oz on the scales (Clifton) and heavy shoes that didn't feel heavy on foot. Yer recommendation and opinions surpass the stats. Unless the stats show a 400g shoe!
