Ohhhhh ouch, that sucks! I imagine growling "WASH THE F*&^%($ DISHES FOR ONCE YOU LAZY DOUCHEBAG" could be very cathartic :D

I've watched hours upon hours of vocal tutorials in the past and not a single one has addressed actually enunciating words, but you did, and in a way I hadn't thought of before. 💯🤘🏻

Hey, clasically trained singer who is coming over to learn how to scream. Column of breath which is slightly punctuated is super consistent with "traditional" vocals. Found it super helpful that you are so technical. Cheers for this!

I love the transition from Orc-like tone "I DO NOT FEAR THE DARKNESS!" to all delicate / educated "I hope you find it usefull :)" (Great vid tho, will definitely try, the last part really explains why I tend to run out of air, I used to think that you growlers had like x3 lungs capacity, but I realise now that maybe I was also wasting alot of air by poor understanding of the technique).

If your serious about singing, learn yoga breathing techniques. The one that teaches how to inhale into your back makes a BIG increase.

Phenomenal tutorial. I've been singing for years, but all in hard rock, blues rock, and punk rock bands. I wanted to expand my singing to some metal styles and this provided an excellent foundation to do so when I first watched it months ago. I can now metal scream very well, thank you so much!

I like how you break everything down. You start with a simple sound that most people use, and turn it into something wicked nasty. Sadly I can’t practice this in my apartment... because, neighbors 😂

I've been learning to scream for over a year, and the frustrated sigh part was one of the first, but also easiest things to do because I've done it almost every day of my life. What I didn't know however, was the enunciation. I mean, I kinda did, but it was never explained to me properly like this video has. This is a really great and straightforward video, and it has helped me calibrate my vocals better in time for some recording that I'm doing, so thanks!

This is the only explanation that I understood I kept defaulting to false chords because I use them when I sigh. But actually hearing your sigh coming from your head helped me with placement.

Over the years, from someone who grew up taking choir classes, I've grown to appreciate the stuff metal vocalists have to do for their music. This tutorial was really clear and explained things despite not having experience in the genre. Thank you so much!

I mean, yeah, it's not that screaming inevitably hurts your voice, it's that prolonged vocalization of any kind (screaming, singing, speaking) can strain and ultimately harm your voice over time if your technique is built on bad habits. So, wow! What a great crash course! This is really solid technique and the method here is so concise. Breath support is so important! Brilliant shortcut using a common vocal expression to build into that ore guttural scream. Gonna go check out your band now. =]

Definitely the best beginner tutorial video I've ever seen. I watched dozens and dozens of beginner tuto videos, couldn't get it and at some point realized myself that the sound I make when I'm annoyed is indeed the first step. I am so glad to see that a professional singer does it this way!

go for a walk, in the woods or somewhere where you can be alone and scream. If you can't be 100% alone maybe don't scream ''I do not fear the darkness'' in public, and you should be fine

Pretty good advice. I discovered my " technique " after many years busting my vocal chords in the car. Then, I tried a similar technique as this trying to mimic Dimmu Borgir, and I found it! Now I have the sound I like and the confidence to deliver. Thanks for this ! Best wishes to those exploring their own way of achieving true metal voice sound!

I've been practicing screaming for about 10 years and this is really simple way to describe it. You'll see my comment is actually edited because I was going to say this is an interesting technique that i'm excited to try, then for reference did my scream and realized this IS what I was doing haha. I'd just never broken it down. Super cool!

I’ve always been able to do like very low subtle metal screams, kinda like in a whispery tone but I never knew if there was a safe way to push out the tone to be louder. This tutorial just helped me do that 10 fold. Now I can do a mid metal scream louder than when I “mimicked” it

Thank you! I’ve been trying to figure out how to do this. I sing classical music, so I’ve been searching for an explanation of technique. That’s how I learn best. This is completely “doable” with practice. I really appreciate you doing this!

Hey that was really good tutorial, I've been singing metal for at least 15 years now. She totally nailed it, it's got to come from the bottom like that. Feel that power, and bring it out, practice all the time and it will get easier and you'll get stronger. And then you can try what style suits you best. Great video.
