Then again, Ebert panned The Thing so maybe Eagle Eye is better than we can possibly conceive. A totality of triumph, an ascension into the creative Valinor. The opening of new artistic vistas, peering towards the horizon of future possibilities. Punches through the stratosphere of past greatness. Four stars.
@stephengrigg59882 жыл бұрын
@@aarondavis8943 he really panned the thing? I guess that shouldn't surprise me. I think he's the best critic of all time and he's actually the person that got me interested in movies growing up, but he had a very specific taste. @@stephengrigg5988 This thread’s overstated things a little. Ebert gave Eagle Eye 2/4 and The Thing 2.5/4. He thought The Thing was technically impressive, but he thought the gross-out horror came at the expense of an engaging story or characters, and he said Alien had already done the same material better. He loved Halloween, though, so go figure.

13:10 Funnily enough, this is actually one of the few things in the movie that ISN'T complete bullshit! Two Minute Papers has a video on it, you can look up "Reconstructing Sound from Vibrations"
@Finn_Anwarunya3 жыл бұрын
You actually can construct audio from a silent video by analyzing the vibration patterns of certain things in the video. Believe it or not that's actually one of the only semi-realistic scenes in this movie!

I distinctly remember watching this movie in the theater when it came out. And the only reason I say 'distinctly remember' was because I fell asleep part way through, which I can't remember doing a single other time in theaters.

Comparing crystals to a football field is actually pretty common here in the States. As long as it's not the metric system, we'll use it.
