If you think you need one control, there is something wrong with your stereo. Most likely speaker placement or acoustics problems. If you can’t fix those, try anything for your guess is as good as mine then.

Hi Hans, today Marantz brings also a network receiver, based on the PM8006 amplifier, but with a digital part that uses the HEOS app. The PM7000N. I'm wondering if you could do a review of this new Marantz product that is designed to reproduce all kinds of digital files. I would very much like that, because I find your opinion of great value.

can this unit be connected to denon avr-x3600h av reciver pre out with out using pre amp? will it work alone as 2 channel amplifier or i have to use pre amp?

It will work as a stand-aloe stereo amp and you can connect the pre-out of the Denon to it.

I don't know, I haven't reviewed the Yamaha you mentioned. But competition is fierce and I would be surprised if it does come close.

Not having a dedicated button to select the HDMI input from the remote is a bit unfortunate for me, specially in a device of this "category". However, I have read somewhere that, when connected via HDMI ARC, some TVs can control the amplifier (on/off, volume up/down). Wouldn't that be the case for The PlayStream A7 connected to some, if not most of, modern TVs with HDMI ARC? By the way, what about a video about sound via HDMI? If I am not wrong, HDMI was designed to support high quality video/audio. How would it compare to audio via the other connectors described in your videos (SPDIF, AES, USB, I2S, ..)? Having the TV switch the Playstream A7 to the HDMI input did not work with my Panasonic Plasma. But HDMI CEC is a bit f a mystery since manufacturers all have their little tweak to make it work better with only their equipment. Audio over HDMI does not have min interest. Sorry.

So I emailed the company to make sure: Indeed this unit only supports airplay and not airplay2. Too bad, I really like the unit and still might get it (no USA dealer but there's a Paris trip in my post-COVID world planned) but having a house with a mix of speakers /HomePods, being able to control and balance them via airplay2 is desired.

Airplay 2 has yet to be generally applied by the smaller manufacturers that make the higher quality audio equipment.

Hi, My Playstream A7 have some issues, I don't know if it's a problem or a default behavior: > The device requires manualy power up (remote control or button) but I need to power up based on DLNA (spotify startup the device, like bluesound, marantz, denon, audocast, ieast etc..), my playstream is placed in a rack (in other room) and makes it unusable. > Many problems with spotify volume control, small jumps, only have sound between 50% and 100%, from 0 to 50, sound is to low or mute.. Any firmware update planed ?

It is € 1299 including 21% VAT (European sales tax). That is €1074 export price. But I don't know if the FM tuner has the right frequency steps for the States and there is no DAB+ for sure. On this page you find the international distributors: advance-acoustic.com/en/content/12-where-to-buy. There is no one for the States, but there is for Mexico and Canada.

No, there are only two power amps (L&R). But you could use them for bi-wiring.
