Thank you for excellent instrctions, Summer! I've had som romboid pain that won't release, and its especially noticable when doing inside- and outside circles with my club. Any tips on how to counteract it?
@SummerHuntington Жыл бұрын
Hey Johan, yea romboid pain is definitely your body telling you either something is out of alignment when you swing, or that you have a compensation pattern that needs addressing. I'd recommend my Pure Mobility Online Course that teaches you in detail how to release bound fascia. That course and others can be found here: www.flowshala.com/online-courses Secondly, you may benefit from working with one of my coaches at Flow Shala to look at what is going on, and help address it. www.flowshala.com/pricing for that info!

Great channel I love your content! I follow and watch a lot of Mark Wildman's videos but I'm having some trouble learning the 180 degree rotating pullover as well as the reverse mill for clubs. My brain is not used to these movement patterns! Haha is there some way I can have an instructor teach me these patterns? Thanks in advance!
@SummerHuntington2 жыл бұрын
Hey Travis, yes we absolutely have coaches who specialize in shoulder mechanics. Get in touch with me directly at www.flowshala.com/private-training and we can get you set up with a coach asap - just write in your contact info and goals in the form

My takeaway is that when you hold the club at "rack position" or whatever, your elbow is almost never at 90 degrees and there's almost always a bend in your wrist. Is that ok?
@SummerHuntington2 жыл бұрын
Good eye, yep there are moments during a dynamic mill that the angle of the elbow may not be 90 degrees exactly in this video. However, the more important angles are the elbow being close the the rib in Order position, and the order position being in front of the shoulder, versus having the humerus bone being in external rotation. Compare this dynamic mill with a “stuccato” style mill where you may see those sharper 90 degree elbow. I’ve never been one for dogmatic right or wrong, this appears to be a style variation for me and I can excecute the movement safely and efficiently. Wrist seems fine to me as well. Hope this helps ! Film your own mill and post and tag me, and we can analyze variations in biomechanics

This has been really helpful, but I seem to have developed some form of tennis elbow that I think may be related to doing mills? Any obvious epidemiology to mills and tennis elbow? Thanks for your great work!
@SummerHuntington4 жыл бұрын
Yes! This is super common in athletes, and mobility must be addressed. Get in touch with us at www.flowshala.com for our 21 Day Reset Project and we can help you. The culprit is generally a slightly bent elbow (due to residual tension in bicep), and lack of shoulder ROM which results in the force being double or even triple at the elbow joint. When or if you join, make sure to attend some of the Steel Mace Vinyasa classes and Mindful Mechanics classes and lets fix this!

Great video! Question, when doing the 2 handed mill do you go over the same shoulder as the top hand or is it more of a shield cast?
@SummerHuntington4 жыл бұрын
You should be able to go in both directions, mill forward and backward. So doesn't matter which hand is on top.
@sofusgleditsch55623 жыл бұрын
I've been wondering about this for a long time too. Most tutorials show it as a shield cast, and not a shoulder cast. That feels wierd too me though. And watching this video slowmotion at around 06:53 - 07:05 it seems she is always going over the same shoulder like a shoulder cast and NOT a shield cast. If Summer Huntington sees this, a clarification would be much appreciated!

Yeah, I had to shut it off after a couple of minutes. Maybe I could watch them muted but it sounds like a nervous tick. Maybe it's just some chi harnessing thing that someone taught her but it doesn't belong on camera. I just subscribed then I unsubbed 2 minutes later. 🙄

That breathing is very common in kettlebell and club training videos. They're showing the effective way of breathing during the motions
