I'm not sure how others feel, but I really like seeing videos like this from you. I don't come across too many GMs that need modules programmed, so in a way watching this keeps the cobwebs cleared out of my head. Good idea on running multiple partitions. I personally have a few different cheap laptops that I use depending on the manufacturer. I should just get a nice fast laptop and put a bigger drive so I can run several partitions.

That's the talk of someone who has no clue how this stuff actually works I'll give you a simple example the reason that this is take a drivers window switch for instance if you buy a high trim level truck that has heated and cooled seats power folding mirrors memory seats etc. Etc. The module is blank when you get the new part it has no way to know you have installed that module in a truck that has all those options so it will not run any of those accessories unless you program those options into the module it's not to make you buy more parts or scanners it's because people want luxury options and it's necessary to make it work if you don't like it buy an older vehicle and live without those options

It's part of the efficiency improvement. Instead of the fuel pump running full speed all of the time consuming power with a pressure regulator bypassing the excess fuel back to the tank, the module varies the speed and power consumption of the pump. Trying to get that last idi bit of fuel economy...... Same thing has been done to alternators and AC compressors. Mucho dinero to keep all that crap working for the life of the vehicle. @ADVANCEDLEVELAUTO2 жыл бұрын
Manufactures programming software are all different and many can not be installed on the same partition. Costs are also all different. Ford FJDS software is free to download, however you have to purchase a license every time you want to use it. GM SPS 2 use to be a strictly web based program. It now requires you to install a program called Techline Connect on your PC and log into it from the website. GM charges per VIN number. Dodge/Chrysler is far more complicated and requires you to purchase 3 different subscriptions to program a vehicle. Dear Sir, Many Thanks for your very lovely and informative videos. In my opinion such a fuel module should not be invented in the first place and if it is, then it should be a plug and play rather than being programmed in this complex manner hopping from download to download taking way more time than installing that module which makes it looks like an organ transplant adaptation (God Forbid), and the funny part is that you should play your game in the service provider's club yard to ensure that you are not using a counterfeit or cracked software. This is one type of control and manipulation on a small scale rather than technology which in this case many would call it a non-reliable technology, and its obvious that not too many in the field knows about. Japanese and Koreans I believe do not allow for such a tricky path, and what infuriates me a lot is that all this puzzling gizmos is made on a commoners cars, i.e. we would understand such policy if being made on Top end cars like Rolls Royce, Ferrari.... etc, but not on common cars used by ordinary people. Take Care & Enjoy Your Heaven.
